Choosing mantra

हरे राम कृष्ण
Dear Swee, Namaskar.
Glad to be typing with you.
I was disagreeing with your calculations of mantra-kriya, -bhoga and -devata and clarifying the impact of the Naryana-astakshari.
Figuring the words and aksharas is the second step as we first have to identify the source of the problem first, viz.: If Surya is a problem then the atma itself is suffering and therefore Shiva mantras are necessary. If Mercury is a problem then at its core an unfulfilled desire for wealth is likely to cause the problem and Vishnu will bless the native to overcome this problem. Like this we can continue.

Some of the best mantras have 3 words as they derive their energy from the third house, a house which rules our hands and therefore the first act of karma. If malefics are causing the problem, it would be a good idea to choose mantras which have the same number of words as the house where the malefic is posited. I.e. for malefics in the fourth house, it would be advisable to choose mantras consisting of four words.

If it is six aksharas then it will purify the six house of Ripu. Therefore in the given example the shadakshari Vishnu mantra: om vishnave namah| is applicable. Whichever house the number of aksharas coincide with is the house of focus and where the fruits will be felt.
The resultant place of the Mantra-devata shows where the intelligence of the Devata is experienced. So if a problem is that the native isn’t thinking propperly to begin with, then mantras where the mantra-devata sits on the first house are necessary. Some excellent ones for Vishnu and Narayana are:
om namo naaraayanaaya
vyam vyasadevaaya namah
om vasudevaaya namah
kliiM vasudevaaya namah

    Dear Visti,

How to select mantras for Ketu graha’s placement?

For Cancer Lagna, having Ketu in 9th house, how to approach for mantra selection.

One method you suggested was the Chandi mantra. Now should it be 9 words or 9 aksharas. Perhaps, in this case since 9th house is a good house and to protect it from the obstructions of Ketu, it should be 9 aksharas. That way, perhaps, the mantra bhoga in 9th house may cleanse the said house.

    Your kind comments pl.

    Respected Sir Vistiji,
Sir, please give me your valuable time.
I have posted comment last day. Please give solution.
Again, Sir, in this article, you stated “we first have to identify the source of the problem first, then the second step is to figure out the words and aksharas of Mantra”.
Sir, is it so that, “choose mantras which have the same number of words as the house where the malefic is posited”. But what we have to do if there are 4 malefics are placed in all four kendras. I have seen this type of horo. Then which devata, and mantra do you suggest?
    Sir Vistiji,

    Dear Readers, Namaskar

    Vijay
We are recommended that if you wanto remove a problem, choose amount of words as the house where the malefic-which is causing the problem - is placed. So nine words for a malefic in ninth house.

    Revti
    Who is your Ishta Devata?

    Sunita
When malefics are in four kendras the native needs help to escape Sarpa yoga. If there is one benefic in kendra (not mercury if joined malefics) then worship that Graha’s pratyadhi devata with the amount of aksharas as the grahas house placement. I.e. for Venus in Lagna a one or thirteen akshara mantra for Sri Lakshmi will do wonders.

If no benefics are in kendra there are specific mantras for this.
For Dattatreya: om kliim aastikaM muni raajam namo namaH|
    For Garuda: kshipa om svaahaa|
There are more for each devata.

    Yours sincerely, Visti Larsen

  9. Sunita Says:

    Respected Sir Vistiji,
Thanks a lot for time. You have written that, “When malefics are in four kendras the native needs help to escape Sarpa yoga”. Is it Pitru-shaap (curse of piter)?
Here there are no benefics in kendra. There are Rahu in Lagna, Sani in 4th, Budh, Ketu in 7th and Mangal in 10th. Always struggling period for the native. So then what would you suggest?
And Sir Vistiji, Why Dattatreya / Garuda mantra? Please explain.
Sir Vistiji, as suggested “There are more for each devata”, I could not get it. Is it 4 mantras for 4 melefics. or separately we have to search Ishta and Palan Devata?
Sir Vistiji, I am awaiting your valuable reply very eagerly,
    Thanks again with regards,
    Yours sincerely,
    Mrs. Sunita.

  10. Sunita Says:

    Respected Visti ji,
Please give me your valuable time and solve the problem.
    Please suggest devata and mantra.
    Thanks again with best regards,
    Yours sincerely
    Mrs. Sunita.

  11. Visti Larsen Says:
    हरे राम कृष्ण॥
    Dear Sunita, Namaskar
Sarpa Yoga means the person has acted like a snake towards nature in the past life, and in this life will be under the bondage of the snakes and have unnusual compulsions, strong passions and desires, and problems with excess toxins in their body.

In case of Sarpa yoga advise to worship those who take us out of the grasp of the snakes. Garuda eats snakes for dinner, whilst Dattatreya removes any bandhana existing.

First solve the problem in the rasi chart. If this also happens to be palana, ishta, or guru devata then fine thats good.. but first solve the problems.

    Yours sincerely, Visti

  12. Sunita Says:

    Respected Visti ji,
Excellent work and explanation. Thanks from the bottom of heart. You lightened one’s path.
In this case, you suggested two mantras : For Dattatreya: om kliim aastikaM muni raajam namo namaH| and for Garuda: kshipa om svaahaa|.

At one place, on 29th Apr. you said, “We are recommended that if you want to remove a problem, choose amount of words as the house where the malefic-which is causing the problem - is placed. So nine words for a malefic in ninth house”.
But here there are only malefics in 4 kendras.
So please suggest one mantra which will help the native for smoother life? Which mantra will be the best - Dattatreya / Garuda / or any other will you suggest?
When should be started for japa? How many times? At what time? How many days or life long? Please help.
    Thanks again.
    With best regards,
    Yours sincerely,
    Mrs. Sunita.

  13. Vaishnavi Says:

    Respected Guru VistiJI,

I have Gemini Lagna with no planet and Mercury in 4th house{In Virgo} and Saturn in 10th house{Pisces} in Rashi chart.Should I use 10 words mantras for this placement? Saturn is causing troubles in my life,{profession related}Which mantras are best for me ? and should I consider Navamsa chart and Ishta devta also for mantras? My Ishta devta is Ganeshji{12th from Atmakarka{Sun}is Ketu in Navamsa.

    Thanks,
    Vaishnavi.

  14. Vijay Kumar Says:

    Dear Visti,

Refer article of Saturn’s mantras in JD.

    Doubts:

    1. Rationale of beejas Huum, Shreem..for 1-4-7-10H and their trines?

    2. How, Shreem beeja is applied for AL whereas for 7H-A7, Klim beeja is indicated and for 10H-A10, Hrim beeja is indicated. In this similium, for 1H-AL it should have been Huum beeja. Request clarification.

    3. For Saturn in any arudha (such as in A2, A4, A5, A10, A11 etc), is the libra jyotirling mantra universally applicable to cleanse Saturn’s constrictive energy, as Saturn is in MKS with reference to each of the said padas ?

    Thanks,

    Vijay Kumar

  15. khushee Says:

    Dear Vistiji, Pranam

Apologies if iam repeating this but am not sure under which topic i put this:

You say several times that debilitation of a planet requires worship/mantra of the mahavidya indicated by that planet. What if there are THREE planets debilitated in the navamsa? In my case, Saturn (which is also rasi lagna lord), Mars, and the Sun. In such a case do, Kali, Matangi and Bagulamukhi have to be worshipped seperately, ie. there mantras done seperately or is there a way that the 3 can be combined in one mantra?

How are mantra(s) used in such cases?

Puja should be done lifelong. I recommend the Dattatreya mantra. It should be begun on a Wednesday morning using a Tulsi mala. The number of recitations should be 5×108.

    Vaishnavi

The advise you seek should be given by a Diksha guru.

    Gaurav Mishra
Its none of that. The tenth lord from your Moon is Saturn and is vakra and uccha. Therefore just like Shri Rama your career and finances will go on Vanvas. This is also causing some issues in marriage and you are under much bondage due to this.
The remedy is either Kali, Mahakala or Ugralinga. Since there is Atmabandhana the remedy is Ugralinga and the mantra is: om namah shivaaya ugralingaaya yam yam sah|. Start from Monday morning and recite 7×108 times per day using Rudraksha mala. Do it until your situation is fixed.

    VKS
Ishta Devata mantra is the best.

    Vaishak
Neecha means you did Adharma and need to be punished. To overcome this we start by worshipping the divine mother to forgive us of our sins, then we go to Vishnu.
In your case Bagalamukhi is the path to take.

    Deepak Modi
This man is certainly a very dharmic person due to Yama-yoga in the ninth house. With Venus strong in third from Arudha Lagna he will be expected to give a large bribe, but this is not enough for Mercury to attain his neecha bhanga in this case. Mercuries Neecha is the main problem and should be solved through worship of Tripurasundari. His Pujari should do such a puja for him to ensure his promotion. This is the remedy.

    Yours sincerely, Visti Larsen.

Even generally shani and mars are enemies, can just shani mars make a person spiritual? Or it can cause issues with the bhaba it is placed in as well, unless karaka is supportive?

    Dear SS, Namaskar
Unamadana yoga has to be formed when the two planets are opposite each other, or particularly Mars influencing the seventh strongly through lordship or conjunction with the seventh lord. Even then the yoga is quite mild as Mars has to be in Marana Karaka Sthana for this really to work.
