In Ashtottaramsha Varga, I suppose the exceptions for sex determination for Rashis would be the same as in Saptamsha? For instance, Meena Rashi tenanting Lagna would indicate a male birth, even though it is an even sign. Suppose a Neecha Budh were to be in Meena, would it indicate a female birth? Or would one just go by the sex indicated by the Rashi without taking the Graha posited in the Ashtottaramsha Lagna into account?

Thank you for such a wonderful lecture. I have been looking and looking for some teaching on chart rectification without any success till now. There is so much here it requires careful attention and listening more than once.

Yes we use the same rules as with Saptamsa, yet here we also consider the planet in the lagna. At least that is what i had gathered from the principle.

UL lord in eighth can signify either arranged marriage or one heart-break. This depends on whether the eighth lord or Saturn reciprocates the association with Upapada to show arranged marriage.

When looking at a rasi I was wondering what kind of affliction you would expect to find in someone suffering from OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder). Would you see an affliction to jup or moon? I thought perhaps Rahu would be invovled.

Iam swamy, I have been going through your website from a week . I was really moved by rendering your service to the needy. I listened to your lectures they were great and profound. I thank you for educating people like us in understanding the spiritual richness of vedic astrology. Guruji, kindly help me out and provide me the valuable suggestions.
From past 2.5 years iam leaving a horrible life. I have done my M.S. in germany (july 2002 to september 2005). From march 2005 I was suffering from severe indigestion problem. I had my work visa (H1 B, USA) and I was about to leave for USA in august 2005. But this illness started because of it I couldnot leave for USA inspite I had to go to india. On top of that it became so severe that I was unable to do any work I became very weak and literally I was staying at home doing nothing just killing time. I have visited so many renowned doctors in india but they couldn’t diagnose my problem. Even now iam suffering from it. Added to this iam having acute financial problems and not yet married, iam 31 now.
Guruji, frankly speaking right from 1993 I very often suffered from high fevers. But it is this period 3 years literally killing my carrer and my personal life. Sir, kindly look in to my kundali and provide me the poojas I have to offer, to which graha, deity etc. Though I would like to have a complete reading I cant do that considering my financial status I will do that after sometime. Iam a beginner in astrology and palmistry. As per my knowledge these health issues are bcos of rahu mahardasha and currently guru mahardasha. The problem is not Rahu in the fifth… Rahu is exalted in Gemini. The problem is that this same Rahu is aspecting Atmakaraka Venus in Lagna, who is also joined Saturn, therefore bringing a Kalatra Shaapa from the past life. This can give sorrow from wife because of lack of children and also because of health problems as Saturn is also the twelfth lord (immune system).
We must analyze the arudhas of third and ninth houses from lagna and Sun, and see where they all are placed from the Sun.
In this chart the A3 and A9 are fine. But, the same arudhas from Sun are both placed in the twelfth from the Sun which is very problematic for conception. Yet, it shows that remedies can indeed be done. Ask him to begin reciting the Santana Gopala mantra. He will be able to have children.

Actually this site is meant for learning Jyotish, i do offer private readings for people as you can see in the consultations page, but if you are willing to help others learn jyotish as well, then posting here is just fine.
Your problem is due to Brahmin Shaapa, and because this is in the roga bhava joined varesha Guru, it has manifested as a health problem and that too in the digestion itself. Apparently the disease is due to an unusual growth in the stomach or digestive area and the cure has to be through worship of Shiva as Omkareshvara and by performing a severe cleansing of the stomach area.
This has affected your profession as Mars is the tenth lord from Moon and involved in the curse. The curse dasa started from Feb 2002 and ends in 2010. After march next year things will get abit easier, but you need to do an omkareshvara mantra for Shiva.
Start this mantra from Monday after performing Rudraabhisheka: om namaH shivaaya omkaraaya hauM jooM saH|
Know that for health issues of any kind the best pooja to perform is Rudraabhisheka and Mrtyunjaya. Perform these once a year during your birth nakshatra to ensure the best possible results healthwise.

this is a chart of a native dob-9th march 1970,8.45pm,delhi,India.
the navamsha lagna changes in one minute and the dasamsha lagna changes in 2 minutes.
the native is an army officer and has applied for a voluntary retirement and wants to do something on his own and is also considering going abroad.
if we consider time of birth as 8.45pm then dashamsha lagna is in makara,6th house which has chandra,mangal and budh is stronger than 7th house which has no planets.native joined army(mars in 6th house) in shukra dasha(shukra in 12th house has rashi drishti on 6th house)chandra bukthi(chandra present in 6th house).8th lord surya(native applied for voluntary retirement-native currently in ketu antara which is in leo rashi in rashi chart) in 10th house and 10th house aspected by guru(badhak lord) and ketu by rashi drishti—1)will the native find his next job in a foreign country as 12th lord guru in 2nd house the badhak lord joined ketu?
2)lagna lord in 8th house–native should have frequently changed jobs–but native has kept his job for 13 yrs in the army.
3)7th lord in 6th house–what does this mean?

in continution with my previous post–You mentioned about ketu,earlier u have said that ketu can indicate-vehicle with upward movement-flight.
in the dasamsha chart–ketu(flight)is in 2nd house with 3rd lord(short travel) and 12th lord(foreign) and badhak-jupiter.the native indeed goes on frequent short travels to foreign countries as air marshal.it fits the picture well.8th lord and upcoming dasha lord-surya has rashi drishti on 2nd house-native wants to retire.
but if the 2nd house is indicating the current job and the native is going to retire,where do we go from here to see the next job?

regarding the previous post–maybe i went too far–going to the second house as the 6th house & 10th house& 2nd house in dasamsha have 12th house/lord connection.
so the native may still be in the 6th house related job as it has rashi dristi from 12th house which has shukra in it-so this could be giving foreign travel-as he has not travelled abroad before this job.8th lord is in the 10th house-and being the upcoming dasha lord also having strong link with 12th house(10th lord in 12th house) and lord(rashi dristi) in dashamsha and rashi may indicate that his next job is in a foreign country.

Your questions are mainly 1) Will he go abroad and why? 2) What will happen to his career?
First lets see his past. Dasamsa Narayana dasa of Taurus initiated his career and being the fifth lord its strong to do so. The issue with his Dasamsa is that Sun is debilitated, but it gets neecha bhanga from Mars and Venus who are in kendra to Moon. So he has to take up these jobs (Mars-military/army) and Venus (go abroad) if he has to ensure that his status rises in life. Also being that Sun is in kendra its bound to give Public service of some kind.
Mars is placed in the sixth and is bound to give job in defense. Mercury is also tenth lord from the rasi chart and joined this combination and further grants that this work is his main karmayoga and he shouldn’t even touch business (maraka) in this life.
Among Mars, Venus and Saturn who give neecha-bhanga to Sun, Saturn is not giving it and is placed in the eighth house. So when Simha-narayana dasa started earlier this year he wanted to retire.
This will also end his stint of public service and shows that he will now have to enter private-sector for further jobs. Venus is the significator for private sector and is tenth lord placed in the twelfth house of foreign stay. So we may infer that further employment will happen in foreign countries and will be private. He may have met the contacts necessary for this between 2005-2007 during Sagittarius mahadasa.
Now, for foreign association due to job, the tenth lord from Moon in the rasi chart must be associated with 1) the twelfth house, or 2) a movable sign in the rasi or navamsa. In the rasi the tenth lord from Moon is Jupiter and is placed in Libra rasi and Capricorn navamsa. Similarly we can analyze the seventh lord from Venus for place of marriage. Here Mercury is the lord and is placed in Capricorn navamsa with Jupiter. Therefore both work and marriage can occur abroad.
To justify this analyze the Paradesa and Jalapathana saham.

Thanks. The karakas for service and business are Saturn and Mercury respectively. So Saturn in eighth does indicate that he may have a short term of service, but being the lagna lord it will be his personal decision.
Whereas for Mercury in the sixth, it definitely doesn’t bode well, especially as its maraka is the seventh itself as you pointed out.

So both are afflicted, job through sixth bhava occupied by Buddha and 7H being in 2H from it. Now service can be His choice but that will be stressful (cursing Guru and two malefics). His time of retirment are completely mad, and also His office (a4). He will commit mistakes in joining prosperous group (gu+ke in 2H) because of too much modification (upachaya lord) - that will be beyond His reasons (badhakesh). From service He can jump into sth more independent (7L in sixth). Surya has digbala so his way of sharing/giving (12L in Rasi) is very innovative, but to make it work Ma must be activated (as Shani and Venus are weak). Mars is forth lord which shows very close people in work, but being with Rudra Yoga this will cause a lot of tension.

You are right about counting successive relationships. For both men and women see seventh from Venus for the coming of the lover into ones life.
Yet, seventh from Jupiter must be seen for both men and women also, and especially women. This is because the seventh from Jupiter shows choice of spouse for the sake of having kids. After having kids Shiva’s third eye opens and burns the passion/desire for mating (Venus) in ladies especially, and therefore the seventh from Jupiter becomes extremely important in their case.
Reg. Dasamsa Narayana dasa, it starts from the stronger between Gemini and Sagittarius as the tenth lord from Rasi is Mercury.

I agree with your analysis, except i think the afflicted Jupiter in second causes more unrest and lack of peace than anything else… whether or not its due to his own ideas/decisions/mistakes as you said.
Surya in digbala is great but he has to stay in public service and since its debilitated he has to choose either Mars or Venus. Venus made him travel a lot with his work in the armed-services.
Really he is in a difficult spot. More planets are in sixth so service is the preferred area. If he chooses government service (Sun) then its either Venus or Mars’s line of work as they give neechabhanga. Venus is better off in the twelfth, but its also in the rudrayoga along the second/eighth axis. If he chooses private sector then Venus itself is to be seen and is placed in the twelfth again. Thats its for service, and we already see that business is highly inadvisable. Best advise is for him to travel.

1) Rudra Yoga is the combination of Moon with either Mars or Venus - the natural second and eighth lords from Aries.
2) Both. He must travel abroad for his job as its in the twelfth house, and he must travel with the job because it is Venus.

Kindly permit me to know some more details and inner meaning of this Rudra yoga.
Rudra Yoga is the combination of Moon with either Mars or Venus. It is clear. The problem is in understanding the base of this yoga.
Both Mars and Venus are neutral to Moon and the difference is Mars agni and Venus jala as Moon. Moreover Mars looses its power in cancer (Moons place, getting neecha). If it is so, the same thing should happen (loosing power, not neecha but less vigor) whenever/wherever Mars conjoins Moon. The degree of Mars vigor may differ depending upon the house placement of this combination. Is it so Guru ji? Then how this Rudra yoga is manifesting?
At this juncture I earnestly request Guru ji to shed more light on this yoga
1)Effect of this yoga at various houses.
2)Synergetic effect of curse ( Rudra yoga with Mathru sapa).
3)Separate remedies are to be advised are any single remedy which will take care of both the Rudra yoga and Mathru sapa.

1) With reference to analyzing a chart one of the affecting factors is Tatva dhosa (From Vara and thithi) and Guru ji has explained that Tatva mantra (Agni) is advised.
2) Recently I came across one article discussing that Virchaga lagna lord Mars and 10th lord from it Sun are in parivarthana yoga. More over malefic planets (includes Rahu) aspects Sun in lagna, hence agni tatva is afflicted and remedied through agni gayatri. Is this another method of analyzing tatva dhosa Guru ji?
If it is so; is it permissible to advise agni mantra to women too or one has to add jala beeja as Guru ji advise to Savitur Gayatri for women.

Rudra yoga happens due to Mars and Venus because they are the natural lords of the second and eighth houses. Therefore they are the natural Rudras. Because they lord these houses they can also give incredible wealth but the more you eat, the closer you come to your end as the world only has a limited amount of food for your birth… so also the rudra yoga can give premature demise. Normally it gives people blood pressure when the shoola dasa associates with it. So, if associated with second/eighth houses from lagna, then predict possibility of lots of wealth. In other houses it can ruin health but grant rajayoga.
Rudra yoga with Matrishaapa just means that the curse of mother will give health problems.
Moon joined the second/eighth lords isn’t Rudra yoga per say, but will carry similar effects. If nodes are associated then its daridra yoga.
Tatva dosha means either excess of the tatva, or too little of the tatva. The example you referred to had excess and therefore required balancing through the agni gayatri.

Budha in the sixth house is benefitting the sixth house and not the seventh, therefore the problem. Whether its maraka or not isn’t my concern in this matter, but its making him do Job instead of business. Therefore whichever business he takes up ends up becoming job.
I don’t think he will keep his job during this eighth house dasa in D10. The antara will likely be of a sign aspecting those planets in Leo.

Dear Pradeep, Namaskar.
Your issues arise from the Pravrajya yoga in your eighth house. This can cause problems in all aspects of life as it shows lack of success.
To remedy this the best thing is if you get Diksha from a spiritual Guru as the sixth lord is involved. Until then i recommend that you recite the mrityunjaya mantra 108 times morning and evening.

As per the dictum ninth lord will have the protecting power. Suppose if we consider Taurus lagna ninth lord Saturn (yogakaraka) should have this protecting power, then how it will do harm during its dasa when placed in ninth house. Please kindly help us to understand this.
In the following Taurus Lagna example (Feb 18, 1993. 13:26.78E07, 9N56) ninth lord Sani (AK) is placed in ninth house itself along with Moon (DK) and involve in a curse along with Mars (PiK) from second house. Apart from the mantra remedy (Kali MA mantra/Mahakal mantra-when reciting Kali MA mantra she is little bit ferocious!-why?) is it advisable to save dharma by wearing amethyst on the left hand middle finger or blue sapphire to take Moon (DK-third lord)out of this. Earlier posts 17th & 18th, i was going through all your mp3 classes . What i didnt understand is by using which dasa you hava aarived that my problem lasts till 2010. Because vimsottari starting with moon best suits my problem and the guru MD ends in 2013. Shoola dasa also makes sense iam running aquarius rasi dasa, also narayan dasa makes sense iam running pisces rashi dasa and 7th from it is virgo and 6th from it is aquarius rashi dasa. Why aquarius because rahu is casting 5th aspect on moon and sun in aquarius causing an eclipse. And moon is in parivartana with shani in 9th bhava with a6 in it. So giving results of the 9th house specially diseases (a6). And if i check d6, 6th bhava is loaded by rahu, ketu and moon indicating an inauspicious eclipse.
Keeping this aside for a while in d1 6th house is loaded by guru ketu and aspected by all the malefics. Rahu, saturn and mars such a fortunate fellow iam everybody joined the party. And if i check d60 both rahu and ketu are not auspicious khulagna. So how to figureout is this from 6th bhava in d1 or 4th bhava in d1 and 6th bhava in d6. And how can we arrive to the conclusion that this will last till 2010 because there is no medication for this. Or is this life long. Kindly answer my query.

With reference to earlier posts 48th, 17th and 18th. I have come across a person who is suffering from a similar problem as mine in the forums. His details are as follows.
June 13 1945, 10:55 am, 77e44, 8n43, india. If we see his D1, guru is in 6th bhava (cp) and is afflicted by mars and sun from 10th bhava by rashi drishti. Though mars is badhakesh he is yogakaraka for leo and friend of sun, on top of this placed in 10th house along with mercury. He had intestinal problems from 2003/2004 may be from 2002 itself, guru MD and mars AD. My question is how come mars can give problems. And in D6 no planets in 6th bhava, though guru and mars are in conjunction they are in 7th house and receive aspect from 11th house, this doesnt signify the cause. Though six from six is 11th, both guru and mars are in 7th as said earlier and 6th bhava lord venus is in 2nd bhava. So how can we conclude the disease from D6.

Your problem is indeed significant. The twelfth from your karaka-lagna (amtakaraka in rasi), which brings either bondage or freedom, is involved in a matula shaapa in the eighth house which is also a duryoga. This is mainly affecting your support in career as this is the tenth lord from Lagna and Moon and is a significant problem.
The solution is a mantra to take you out of bandhana (atmalinga), without which it will be difficult to overcome. The mantra is for Shiva in the form of Ugralinga which should be recited 7×108 times a day at least. Do this and i promise a solution to your problems. Recite the mantra and meditate on your preferred profession.
The mantra is: Om namaH shivaaya ugralingaaya yaM yaM saH|

If your dasamsa lagna is indeed Libra, then business (starting on your own) will be very fruitful for you financially, and it should be in a field of large machinary (rahu), preferably agricultural machinary.

The reason there is a problem is because Saturn doesn’t support dharma to begin with. Just because your friend is your friend it doesn’t necessarily mean that he is dharmic. Your friend could be a criminal eh? Think like this when judging the difference between lordship and natural characteristics.

Did you check Moola dasa? I always use this for curses. Narayana dasa is also very useful. Didn’t i give a remedy for this?
Even yoga karakas can give problems if they are involved in curses or increasing the tamas in the badhaka sthana… This usually means that the native seeks a path of fortune which ends up bringing suffering in the process, just see the chart of Bill Clinton where he though getting the presidency and all the comforts of life, also had to see a near impeachment.

1 & 2) If Kala Amrita yoga is your problem, and its getting enunciated in Ketu mahadasa, then you need a remedy for the yoga, and not particularly Ketu. In my view you should should consider worshiping Sri Tara Mahavidya to overcome this problem. To begin with i would recommend worshipping Ganesha with the Shakti Vinayaka mantra to fulfill your purpose: Om Hreem Gam Hreem mahaagaNapataye namaH svaahaa|
Do this with a prayer to finish your university, then after this you may seek a priest for a Tara mantra.
Note with Saturn in ninth yuti Jupiter, Tara mantra would be excellent.
3) Calm your mind with the mantra: Hare Krishna. Meditate on this every day for 15 minutes. Alternatively wear a spatik mala around your neck.
4) Adhi devata for Venus of course - Sachi devi… If you don’t know a mantra then worship Sri Lakshmi
5) See 1.
6) Ahhh, i would definitely advise not to wear it. See #1 again. Shani is in ninth… you don’t wanto increase a-dharma do you? Thats the reason. I fear stones won’t help you finish your education, instead worship Ganesha diligently.
No blue stones please. Diamond is good - i would recommend that.
7) Every Rudraksha is good for you, but best for you is a good panchamukhi with which you should meditate on Ishana (atmalinga).
As for your Karakamsa - Surya is also a Daivagya, so Surya joined bhratrikaraka can give a father or uncle who is a Jyotisha. Ganapati is indeed your Ishta Devata.

Did you see the Kala Sarpa Yoga?
Ask the person to worship Shiva with this mantra: om namah shivaaya bhavalingaaya vam vam sah| It is the atmalinga mantra for Venus his atmakaraka. This is important as Venus will be able to break the kala sarpa yoga, and help the native out of the Matrishaapa in the chart which is causing problems in the profession and family.
This should be started from a Monday morning. Rudraabhisheka done on the same day is greatly beneficial.

Matula shapa means curse of uncle. To learn more about bandhana you must read about the ashta-bandhana which are caused to the atma. Bandhana means bondage and will limit your opportunities in life. To learn more read the Shiva Purana - Vishvesvara samhita, chapter 18.

To remedy the planets in your ninth house, you need to receive diksha from a Guru. This is because sixth lord is involved in the pravrajya yoga. I personally am not allowed to give you a remedy for this as i cannot take on the task of being a diksha guru.

Namaskar,i have one query, i have tula lagna, both 2nd lord and 11th lord mars & surya placed in 8th house, i have read somewhere that this is a “Daridra yoga” but i have never face any problem regarding money uptil in my life? will this yoga function later in life? if it is kindly give me some remedy.
