om namo bhagavate vasudevaya. i heard your lecture on profession & my question is when the change of profession or voluntary retirement from profession occurs and do we need to look into dasamsa.if so my dasamsa lagna is kataka with mercury,simha-raghu&venus,kanya-jupiter,vruchika-moon,dhanur-mars,kumbha-satrun(retrogade)and khetu,10th house mesha-sun.Iam runing sani dasa and kindly,if possible only,with this information,my voluntary retirement period as i am willing to devote my time and energy,during the rest of life only towards learning and spreading the essence of vedic astrology to the mass,of course,as possibly a truly a free service and as iam a registered homeopath,at present working for a nationalised bank in india,would like offer absolutly free consulatation and wish to serve the people.I am already 53 years old,lower mid income group but wish to serve the people and request your guidance in this regard only if you have time and i have also witten a reply in navamsa lectures,if possible,you can also go thru it and let god be with you in all your good intentions and i will not feel sorry if you do not wish to reply and om tat sat

I know you must be very busy but please help me to clear up the following…….
I have been listening to some of your lectures on Srigaruda.com (recently on prenantal abode, Shastyamsa and on profession). For the greater part the lectures are clear and I can follow, but sometimes I get lost, especially if terms are used that I am not familiar with.
Regarding the lecture on profession, I could follow that one has to check the Lorship, planets in, and planets aspecting Lagna for possible profession according to desire, as well as the same for Arudha Lagna for perceived idea on profession, but then when it came to the part about determining what one really can do, I got lost….
Did you say you have to see which of these planets are in TRINES? ie the 1st, second or 9th house? I am not clear on this part….how to see the planets that indicate one’s REAL abilities?
If so, what about the 10th Lord? I have heard that the 10th Lord plays a strong role in determining one’s profession?
Then the lecture on Pre-natal abode - if I use Parashara’s Light Drekkana Chart I get different results, e.g. for Swami Vivekananda I get sun in Rasi lagna, but then sun in 3rd Drekkana of Leo (Aries!) with Mars as dispositor instead of Jupiter as you stated in the lecture. So will this method only work with SJC software??

In judging abilities of the native to work, from Navamsa, what does one see if the trines or lagna do not show any planets at all? Does it mean that such person will not be able do well in any kind of work? Isnt there any dictum to look for rasi dristi in such cases?

The native is going through the Mangal Bhukti of Rahu Dasha. I could not understand one thing though. He is having trouble with his career since the last couple of months. Since Guru is in the tenth house, I assume that there are good times ahead. Could it be because he has the lord of tent house, Chandra in the eighth house. Any insights from a person of your caliber will help me enhance my meager understanding.

You can only do what you are good at. What you are good at is seen from the trines in navamsa. If you do professions related to these abilities, the profession will be lasting. If not then the professions will be shortlasted and insignificant. People who have no planets in trines will have insignificant professions.
Tenth house in the Rasi chart shows HOW you work. I’ve talked alot about this in the lectures. I.e. Venus in the tenth house makes the person think its spring outside and is ever eager to travel around and see the world. But, the tenth house from Moon in the rasi is more important as it shows the support in the profession. Invariably an afflicted tenth from moon shows either problems in the profession or NO profession at all. This is an important indicator. If its not part of my lectures, do see my book on the same.
When you have a problem with terms, make a note and send it to me. I’m still trying to get some people to make a glossary, but really i’m disappointed with the laziness of some students.
Btw. Its not the regular drekkana that we use with the past lives, but the Jagannath Drekkana.

When a person has problems in their career, I never look at the tenth from Lagna. Simply because it only shows HOW you work. Not whats happening to the work.
Now, heres a principle I was taught when analyzing the Vimshottari Dasa. Do listen to the lecture on the same.
The mahadasa is in the twelfth from the Sun, so by principle this is not the most auspicious mahadasa. Since this happens in the twelfth from Lagnesh Venus it indicates excessive expenses and losses during this dasa.
Mars antara is placed in the sixth from the Moon and thus again shows problematic antaradasa. Now see all lordships of Mars from Arudha lagna; Mars is the tenth and fifth lord from the arudha lagna showing issues with career/reputation and future/promotions/supporter in life. Mars is in the fourth from Arudha lagna and this is an inauspicious placement for malefics and causes lack of peace and comforts in life.
Now see the Pratyantara from Lagna; Rahu, Ketu and Moon will be the worst, yet Moons exaltation will eventually help him to see better times in career after seeing troubles.
Now after the above analysis you should feel compelled to analyze the Dasamsa chart. There an unambigious placement of antaradasa Mars in the eighth says everything.
Ask him to worship Rudra. Third Anuvaka of the Rudra Chamakam is recommended as well as the mantra: Om Namo Rudraaya|

More questions, sorry….
One more question - where can I get a good list of careers indicated by the different planets - in a modern context (eg including computer sciences etc.). How much effect will the zodiac sign have on this - e.g. Mars in Sagittarius as opposed to Mars in Leo?
If there are no planets in the Navamsa Trines, can one look at the Lords of the Trines, though the career may not be strong or long-lasting as you have said?

Thank you for your blessing.
You are doing many nice mantras, but knowing you as a Virgo lagna, you tend to wanto please everyone. Don’t do that, remember there are 33 million devatas. Stick to less mantras, and preferably no more than the pancha devata everyday: Ganesha, Surya, Vishnu, Devi and Shiva. Thus five mantras everyday and only one mantra per devata. Then after a few months you can change the mantra for each of them if you like.
Also you must worship the divine mother. She will ensure a successful career for you as Moon is in the fifth house and alone.
Your reason for wanting to work with Jyotish is seen from the great Guru-Shukra yoga in your rasi chart. This is a Shiva yoga and being involved with the AK it will definitely give a very high level of knowledge and work.
To make it strong you need to formally accept and work with a Guru in your vicinity due to the Jagannath Drekkana.
As your dasamsa has Saturn and Ketu in the eigth, its not unlikely that you will retire either before 2009 or 2013 as Saturn and Ketu antaradasas are running until then. Especially Ketu is a good phase as it can promise a new profession.

So far no one has made an exhaustive list of professions, and with the current amount of professions and growing number of titles i wouldn’t be surprised if it would be a work in progress for a long time.
But, at least learn which planet will take one to which theme of profession, i.e. planets in leo will give some association with large-scale administration and if Moon is in Leo this can be working as a bureaucrat, whereas Ketu in Leo can be in the home-defense unit. Planets in Cancer tend to pull one towards the medical line specifically. This is all related to the dasamsa.
In navamsa simply use the definitions given by Parasara and Jaimini in the chapters on Svamsa. Ketu will indicate one who is good with small watches, micromachinary and hence also computers.
Reg. trins, if nothing is there then see lord of lagna.

You say to Setlur in one of the emails above that the Mahadasha being in the 12th from Surya is not very auspicious. I could be utterly mistaken, and please do excuse me if I am, but I seem to recall from one of the lectures, maybe on Vimshottari Dasha or Surya Yogas that the understanding from the Sun is different. Either my memory deceives me, or did you teach that the 2nd from the Sun is about giving to the Sarvatma and for that reason the Dashas influencing the 2nd from the Sun were not so easy as the person had to give a lot to the world. I think you had also said that the 12th from the Sun shows what the world is giving to you and dashas influencing that Bhava were auspicious as one received a lot.
Much on the same theme you had said, 10th from Sun indicated those who worked for you while the 4th from Sun indicated the work the world gave you.
So is it the Dashas of/ influencing the 12th from Surya tough or those influencing the 2nd? If there is an error in my understanding, please point it out.

This is a very interesting lecture. I have the following chart to do an analysis
DOB: 30th Nov 1977
Time:11:45 am
Place:72 E 50′ 00”, 18 N 58′ 00”
Now the Lagna is Cp having Rasi Drishti from Sc, Ta, Le and thereby planets Su, Ve, Sa. The AL is Pi having Rasi Drishti from Vi, Ge, Sg and thereby planets Ra, Ju, Me. In addition the AL has Ke in it. Now when I look at D-9, there is Ma(which also is AK) and Ke in the 5th house(Sg) and Mo in the 1st house(dont know if D-9 lagna is also to be taken into consideration). So from the sutra given by you in the talk, Ke is the only planet which matches. Does this indicate Jyotish only? The person has an interest in Jyotish but hasnt made it his profession. Does it matter that it is conjunct with Ma in D-9 in a sign lorded by Ju. Please provide your analysis.

I came across a chart of a man who doesnot have a proper job from nov/04 .He has 4 planets in 10th house.It seems to be very good chart with dharma karmadhipathi yoga.He has ke in 10th from moon .Is it good or bad for him to have Ke there? Navamsa lagna also matters. Ketu indicates a mathematician, watchmaker, hardware engineer or similar such fields.

Yes, the tenth house is completely useless when it comes to determining the success in career. However, a four planet yoga in the tenth is a pravrajya yoga. Here only the planets which are combust will turn out auspicious and give raja yoga, and this is only Jupiter. Venus and Mercury will actually do the opposite.
Now, tenth lord is in tenth house so Chaturshiti Sama dasa is applicable.
The end of Guru Dasa was running until June 2005. Here the last antaradasa was that of Mercury! Mercury was running from Oct 2003-June 2004.
The next mahadasa is that of Venus. Eek!
Ketu is not good in the tenth from Moon, as it shows confusion and sudden events or mistakes leading to job loss.
The lord of the tenth from Moon is joined the four-planet yoga. That says it all. To pacify this offer water/arghya to Vishnu and meditate on his form with the Narayana Astakshari mantra.

pl refer #13 where you mentioned that when 4 planets are in karma bhava its pravrajya yoga.Does it mean he will be a saint or he does a saint like karma?In 10th house 6th house planet venus neecha(its very good isn’t?) and 10th house planet mercury is neecha in navamsa so what would be the affect of such planets on raja yoga.What is the importance of dharma karmadhipathi yoga here?In one lesson sanjayji taught dharmakarmadhipathi yoga is very very good yoga and it shows blessings of god.What dasa system do u follow .Because i see ketu-moon dasha for him now.And one more thing is his 8th planet moon in 12th and also debliated.What would be the impact that?Ke is the 12th from ve,me,ju and su.Does this show this man is moksha oriented?Thanks

Pravrajya yoga means one will either renounce everything and become a sadhu, or everything one owns will be taken away and one will become a beggar. Either way it indicates loss.
This yoga will dominate over other yogas formed by the mutual conjunction of planets, hence i didn’t mention Dharmakarmadhipati, etc.
For timing I used the Chaturshiti sama dasa which is applicable in the chart.
Ketu in the twelfth from the planets in the tenth doesn’t grant moksha orientation. For this see the fourth from karakamsa and see if Moon or Venus is strong there.

thanks.Your analysis is very very good.but still i have some questions about pravrajya yoga.What difference would it make if 4 planets or more are in other bhavas.For example saibaba puttaparthy has four planets in lagna.Can we say that because of this yoga he is a saint?You also said thay Pravrajya yoga makes one begger/saint.The term ‘begger’ refers to any normal begger(daridra yoga) or religious beggers like kapalikas, bikshuk

Birth details: 27-11-1975,08:43 A.M.Place of birth : Lucknow(U.P.)India. I am in a good paying job but not getting promoted. I am currently not happy with my job. Will this period ever end? When will I get good results profession wise? Is this bad patch very long say next 10 to 20 years? I am losing faith in my abilities. What is the cause of this and remedy.

I said Sadhu, not saint. A Sadhu is one who has renounced everything. He is not a saint unless he becomes a Muni, which is the propper definition of a Saint - one who is so pure that his feet can touch the temple walls.
By beggar i mean a real beggar. I have also seen cases where Pravrajya yoga has made the person a hippie and the native spent all their time taking drugs and escaping the world… this is a different type of renunciation for sense-gratification. In houses other than kendra or trikona the pravrajya yoga gives many weaknesses.
Now, for Saibaba he has definitely renounced many wordly belongings, but the four-planet yoga doesn’t guarantee that he is a saint. For this you must read Jataka Parijata’s tenth house chapter to understand the various variations of this yoga. Btw. it must be four or more planets.

1. No, there is no kala sarpa yoga or kala amrita yoga in your chart.
2. Your Gajakesari yoga is very strong, but has become overwhelmed by a Pravrajya yoga. You can reach a very high level of fame in your life, but must join a spiritual organisation first as ninth lord is in the Pravrajya yoga. Worship Ganesha (mantresha) and put the image of Ganesha in your mind, and the rest will reveal itself.
3. Once you join the spiritual organisation you can go. I’m thining end of 2007 or begining of 2008 during Aquarius-Libra dasa.

The reason for your troubles in profession is a curse of spouse from past life. This problem will subside after November this year as the Moolaantara dasa changes, but will again show up in 7 years from now (mars and venus antara).

Namaskar.Please refer to the psoting #14,15,16 and 19 where you discussed Parivraja yoga with vaishnav.Yesterday i was going through an about lagna in article section of this web site.I found a chart of Albert Enstein, the great scientist of yester years.Here His moon is debliated and in 10th house from moon. Ke is there.And lagna is in 10th house with 3 more planets and itself debliated.There is a parivarthana yoga between 9th and 10th.10th from moon is Sun which is also in 10th forming Pravrajaya yoga.As you said earlier scuh condition would result in begger/sanyasi yoga depending upon bhava in which planets are in.But Enstein was not begger nor a saint.There are other yogas such as dheemanta yoga and others.But you said such yogas would be nullified because of pravrajya yoga.It did not happen .He was regarded as one of the greatest scientists of his era.
Really i have been struggling to understand this.I have checked many charts with 4 or more planets.None of them are begger nor sanyasis.The chart details provided by vaishnav are much similar to enstein chart.So iam very curious.Is there any way we can differntiate between sadhu and begger ?Thanks

Good question, and i will clarify this firmly now.
Pravrajya yoga becomes Rajayoga is the planets are combust. Among Saturn, Mercury and Venus in Einstens chart, the two former are combust whereas Venus the atmakaraka is not, and is thus leading the Pravrajya yoga.
Now see, shortly before the advent of Venus mahadasa, in 1894 his fathers business faulted and the family moved to Italy from Germany to start anew. They left Einstein in Germany to finish his studies, but he soon left his studies to join them.
Whilst he finished his studies in 1896, he had married a lady from Switzerland to avoid military duty (Venus). He then spent the next 10-13 years finishing his Ph.D. and writing various highly-acclaimed papers whilst taking up a few teaching jobs.
However, It wasn’t until 1908 when Saturn Antara dasa began (saturn is combust) that he truly came out of the rut he had put himself in for the last few years.
Whilst he was very productive during these years, the dvara (seventh from arudha lagna) to the world had not opened.
It opened partly during the Antaradasas of Saturn and Mercury.
He then became very famous in 1919 for his eclipse predictions, which was during Sun-Saturn dasa/antara.
So, Venus dasa was not easy for him as it was leading towards Pravrajya yoga, but just like a tapasvi he worked hard and diligently towards his aim.

To aspire to less humble surroundings, ensure that you perform Rudraabhisheka. This is ritual watering of the Shiva Linga whilst performing the Rudra Chamakam. This should be performed during Krittika Nakshatra (21st nakshatra) whilst the Sun is in Cancer/Karka. This should be performed once a year on such a date.
This is because Mars is the strongest planet in the 5-planet yoga, and the same conjunction risks causing you to be stuck in life professionally.
This and the worship of Narayana is highly advisable.

Thank you so much Visitji, i was waiting so curiously for your reply, ever since i posted the query , i would go mutliple times to see if you posted the reply, i was a bit taken back when you copy/pasted the proffesion lecture - i did listen to it but couldn’t figure out pertaining to my daughter- it will be nice if you could take some time and advise as to what steps and what subject’s and career she should choose, she is planning on pre-med but that is long shot - 7 years - please advise - the sport she is concentrating is tennis -is it a good decision. which direction is good for her to go for higher studies. How is her career and right age to marry.

Confusion comes from the nodes, and Rahu-Rahu dasa/antara is running currently. Rahu is the ninth lord indicating that the higher education is the cause, but its placement in the seventh house reveals either a) desire to travel for education; b) desire for relationship. This is at risk of causing financial pressure on her and her family as Rahu has graha dristi on the eighth house where the second and eighth lord are joined. This also forms a curse of mother causing significant worry to the mother in all this.
However, it also shows that the parents wanto give the best possible opportunity and Rahu’s placement in the ninth points towards a family who is prepared to help their child in all this.
Seeing the Siddhamsa, the main confusion is regarding the study for post-graduate degree, as the nodes are in the second house. This also means that the post-graduate degree will be very difficult and she should not attempt studies beyond that of a graduate or post-graduate degree. A Ph.D. is very difficult to get with such a chart.
The interest in medicine has arisen from some personal interests she has had during primary and secondary education as ninth lord Jupiter is in fourth house in cancer (healing/medicine). Moon is in trines to Mercury promoting specifically medicine work.
Based on the above i would conclude that whilst medicine would be a strong personal interest, she would have great difficulty in finishing the degree. Especially the last four years of the degree will be tough.
Mars disposits the fourth lord and is aspecting the ninth house indicating that sports can give her a leverage that brings her into a good college, but Jupiter is much much stronger being that he is the ninth lord in the fourth house and shows that studying law, history, litterature or grammar/poetry would be much better for her and give her better leverage in her choice of schooling.
However, during Rahu-Rahu dasa she is unlikely to accept such an opportunity easily. Wait till the Sun or Moon transits Taurus before inquiring further into her personal decisions. Only during such times should you try to influence her choices.

I am an engineer and had worked for a brief period of 2 years during 2000-2002 Feb. Since then, after my marriage on Feb 15th 2002, I have had no opportunities available for work.
Additionally I have no children yet and face constant problems at home which has lead to severe depression and a feeling to get away…

Your husbands reading is right. I will add that there is also a curse of mother, which can bring sorrow from your own mother or mother in-law.
The remedy must come from Shiva as Mars is your Atmakaraka, and with this you will feel strong and able to face what you are seeing. The mantra is for Shiva in the form of Bhimashankara and the mantra is: OM namaH shivaaya namaH bhimashankaraaya|
Start this from a Monday from sunrise itself, and perform abhisheka of Shiva. Refrain from engaging in any fights during this time.
The issue with having children seems to be on part of your husband and not you as Mercury, Venus and Saturn are all joined/aspecting the upapada. Your husband should seek medical attention to analyze the prospect of having children. I firmly believe that this is the issue delaying children. Yes, the curse is ending in 2008.

my dasamsa is rather a complicated one. I´ve been unemployed since 2006 and I´m under the moon dasa in the bhukti of mars. my lagna in dasamsa is gemini with rahu, jup in cancer, sun and moon in capricorn, mercury retrograde in libra , saturn retrograde in aries, mars in leo, venus in aquario and ketu in sagittarius.
my rasi chart shows moon and venus in sagittarius, mars in taurus, lagna virgo, jup in pisces, merc in capricorn, sun in capricorn, saturn in cancer.

Please do travel abroad. You will not find much job-success in your home country. South or South-eastern direction is good for you.

Tell your husband that he has Mercury and Saturn in trines to Saptamsa lagna, and in addition Venus is the lagna lord. There is definitely a problem here on his part.
The saving grace comes from Sun joined the combination and Mars in the lagna, but neither are easy to remedy without mantras.
Please change the mantra i gave you to: OM namaH shivAya bhimashankarAya hauM jUM saH|. Five word mantras are not encouraged for those trying to have children.
Your husband would benefit alot from practicing Bhauma Vrata for having children.

If your birthtime is correct, then in the d24 it shows confusion in higher (bachelors/diploma) education, which can delay opportunities. You will be able to work in computers. Your Sun dasa which is coming up, can be problematic for you. You will do very well in your primary education. After 2014 it will be difficult to earn the same success in other fields. You need to perform Rudraabhisheka atleast once a year from 2014-2020 due to Pravrajya yoga. The Rudraabhisheka WILL help you.
The same will also help with any issues in higher education.

Some confusion (my ignorance in understanding). Planets in 8th house in D-10, have argala on the seventh house and hence promote the house. Eg in case of Srinivasa (Post 8)u mentioned that sat and ketu in 8th would delay retirement (untill their antras are over). However in case of Elaine (post 46), sun and moon in the 8th of D-10, are the cause of unemployment-unemplyment in mars bhukti because Mars is in 3rd house (House of temp breaks) or Not being in own profession/business is the reason for the diff in analysis. Pl forgive me if i commit a blunder.

On Sep 14 2007 I came to know that I have been superceded for a promotion by a lady. The decision was also taken up by a lady boss. From listening to the audio - I came to following conclusions
1. Lagna - Graha Dristi and planets placed in lagna
2. Arudha Lagna - Graha Dristi and planets placed in Arudha lagna
3. See what planets are placed in trines in navamsa and not lords of trines in navamsa - what the native is good at and is long lasting.
4. No planets in navamsa trines - no significant professions
I hope I have not missed any
My question is Nakshatra and Nakshatra lord influence lagna and arudha - eg: gemini lagna and is in rahu nakshatra (Ardra) - Can you please clarify

Your promotion is likely to come in the dasa/antara of the fifth house/lord in Dasamsa. Do check.

I have answered this to you in private. PV Narasimha Rao had Mercury joined a Vipareet Raja yoga, so if he activated this in a negative way he could go to jail. In your case its only 12th lords conjunction which is malefic, and you can easily strengthen Mercury. I would advise you to grow a beard for this (Parasara).

1. How does parivartana work in Navamansa. ( Like I have venus -sun parivartana in navamansa)
2 What about exalted/debilitated planets in the amsa charts. ( I have exalted mars in the 10th house)
3. I have venus,ketu and Mercury in trine to my navamana lagna so I am not sure what profession I can do. I do work as manager in a big financial services company)

6. There is a principle called Vaisheshikamsa where if a planet gains strength in many divisions this could differentiate a king from being a pauper.

Thank you for your prompt reply. I did go through your articles and lectures and I am still struggling with internalizing the information. After going through your talk I tried to go thorough a couple of charts to determine the profession and I found it pretty challenging. It becomes even more difficult given that many jyotish texts connect planets,bhavas and amsas with very traditional and maybe archaic professions. As an example, look at the chart of the following eminent and distinguished sports personality:

I am not able to connect the chart with the incredible fame and success that the person has achieved. The Navamansa is strong in planets being in kendra and trines but not in any other way. The dasamsa has the 6th lord exaletd in 9th - being mercury - is definitely very well placed.
In my own chart i have exalted mars in Navamamsa and dasamsa and i am not realizing the benefits or maybe I am and not able to see them due to some afflictions.

There is one quick question.Which planets give dancing and acting abilities?You havent mentioned that in your lecture.
I am a natural dancer and can choreograph any song by just listening to music.But I cant figure out from my navamsa trines which planets have given this ability.I can act fairly well but I am not fantastic.
I have rahu,mercury,mars and saturn in my trines to navamsa lagna.
Also many my friends are struggling artists for years in New York and I want to see whether they have the ability to suceed into the acting field.

Neecha in Kendra do good for wealth regardless, but benefics there will increase stress considerably. Be sure to check whether the planet who is neecha is the tenth lord of Rasi chart, if so then this is actually quite bad for ones profession.

Do you wanto see the persons profession or their rajayoga? I have yet to speak fully about rajayoga, but do see the chart you have given:
1) Find a rajayoga-karta and see if it has argala on lagna, arudha lagna and atmakaraka. We find three in this chart namely Mercury, Rahu and Sun. They all give argala to the arudha lagna, whilst removing papargala on the lagna and atmakaraka.
2) See if these planets also have argala on the 1st, fifth and ninth houses. They give argala to the ninth and fifth houses, and remove papargala on the lagna again.
They are thus able to strongly influence the natives rajayoga and power. The nature of the yoga is now important. We find that this is a union between first, seventh and second lords which are the houses of hari, hara and brahma. To become a sportsman Brahma has to bless the lagna and therefore benefics must have some association with the tenth, eleventh and fourth from lagnesha. Here Moon is in fourth aspecting the tenth and the eleventh is lorded by Venus. This is enough to grant a strong lagna lord, and the activity will be sports and games as Mercury is there.
With tenth lord Venus in the lagna he is likely to occupy a high seat in whichever area of life he works in, but as Venus only has argala on lagna and atmakaraka and not the arudha lagna, this will only be temporary. Notice that Venus is also amatyakaraka.
Rightly so, Venus has digbala in the dasamsa, which is an indication of great success in life. To further this the association of Ghatika lagna and hora lagna is important. This last point is what differentiates the sheep from the wolves, as this includes the ‘time factor’ in ones achievements, i.e. the ability to catch the wave of time and achieve something great in the world.
Analyze this last point for more.
Now, with lagnesh in the ninth with exalted mercury his profession is likely to be contract-jobs for sports all his life. This is also justified by the seventh being stronger than the sixth, otherwise the profession would have to be seen from the arthatrikona.

Which graha indicates ability to work in the environment related industries (waste management, recycling, green engineering, etc.)? Mars (karaka for Earth), Mercury (karaka for trees), or Moon (karaka for Mother as in Mother Nature)?
If we can pinpoint the graha for environmentalism then we can check for its association with the Navamsa trines or Dasamsa 10th house to judge native’s abilities/skills in the area.

Recently two eminent persons in my field has started a company of their own in India. They are offering me a head of consulting role. I have asked for some stock options saying its considerable risk for me to jump into a strt up from established company and they are thinking about it. I have mixed feeling about the proposal, as i they may be promising the moon but reality may be different …or really they like me and would make me part of leadership team. I analyzed my Narayan Dasa for D10 and a current under the infleunce of lord of AQ dasa which is Sat . In first 1/3 it ould give result of avasta being malefic and its in Nrityalipta avasta ,but also owns A8 retirement and A4 happiness and comfort. I am confused and would like your help as to whether this offer has risks and should not be pursued ?

Saturn indicates recycling, waste management and anything dealing with waste or reusing waste. In our own body it is Saturn who handles our wastes and attempts to make them as usable as possible.
Green fingers are associated with Mercury… this is something different. People with strong associations with Gemini or the third house tend to be very environmentally friendly, as the third sign is presided over by Mitra-aditya who is the friend of the entire world.

in 12 th lord Mercury’s house. In Navamsha Saturn is in Mooltrikona sign Aquarius.
In Navamsa Vargottam Lagna Cancer and 10th lord Mars is vargottam placed in 9th together with
12th lord debilitated Mercury.
Antara lord Venus is in the second in the Mooltrikona sign of the 2nd lord Sun
9th lord Jupiter (Karaka for profession) is placed in Cancer and exalted.
10th lord Sun from the Moon in Rasi chart is also well placed with the 9th lord Jupiter in the 9th Pisces
In Dasamsa chart 10th lord is Jupiter and placed in the 9th
and Lagna & Dasa lord Moon is placed in 10th in Jupiter’s house
GL is placed in Capricorn and its lord Saturn is in 4th in Mercury’ house
My assessment is as follows kindly let me know where I am wrong.
Except for the aspect of Saturn the placement of the said 4 planets in the 9th is more or less good.
Mercury is getting neechabanga and therefore cancellation of debilation.
10th house and 10th lord are well placed in all the above charts.
Dasa lord debilated in the 5th which is 8th from the 10th. It will be responsible for the type of obstacles
I will face but since the the Astakavarga benefic points are 28 for 10th house and 25 for 5th house
(3 more than the 5th house) I should be able to overcome the obstacles.
My Moon dasa so far has given me mental and health problems but finances were not effected adversely, rather I had
some of the best paid jobs during this time.
Since May 2007 (moon- kethu period) I have been badly effected in all fronts of life.
I also feel there maybe a slight rectification required in my birth time as it should have been during the preceding Moon- Mercury
period that I should have left the job and not Moon-Kethu. Am I right?

The best mantra for ANY job problems is: Om Namo Naraayanaaya|. This is because Mercury is the main karaka for the tenth house, and according to Parasara Narayana can be worshipped for Mercury.
In your specific situation we must analyze the rasi chart first to understand the real cause of this situation. There we find Moon afflicted by Saturn, Mars and Sun, and the tenth from both Moon and lagna has Jupiter afflicted by Rahu, Ketu, Saturn and Mars. The latter points towards the main problem in career, namely curse of brahmin.
The remedy must thus be seen from the tenth. There we find that the lord of the tenth is mars, but is involved in the curse and cannot be remedied. The Karaka is Mercury, yet is placed in the sixth house. We are left with the bhava-devata of the tenth and this is Sarasvati whom you should worship. A good mantra for Guru shaapa in the tenth is: aiM gurusarasvatyai namaH|

The tenth lord from Moon will indicate the best direction for job.
Dayush
You have tiptoed over the combination of four planets in your ninth house. When four or more planets join it is called Pravrajya yoga. Further this involves i) the conjunction of two malefics Sun and Mars; ii) the aspect of Saturn; iii) the aspect of rahu (he has second house aspect).
This therefore also constitutes a curse. But, being in the ninth house it will not manifest throughout life, but during particular dasas dependent on the moola dasa.
However, I don’t believe your present problem is due to the curse, as your Saturn-moola dasa ended in 2005 and started in 1991, during which the curse should have given its worst.
Instead we may find a more temporary effect of the curse manifesting.
Now, see that Ketu antaradasa was running when this mixup happened. Ketu is in the tenth from the Moon and can cause sudden ending of job and that too due to mistakes. Ketu is furthermore the navamsa dispositor of the Sun who is the tenth lord from Moon.
Ketu is placed in the second house and causes daridra yoga, i.e. poverty. Venus antaradasa is next and is placed in the tenth house and aspects the malefic Ketu in the second house to remove the daridra yoga and grant removal of obstacles, as well as foreign travel (badhakesh).
The best remedy right now is to strengthen Venus in any way you can. Don’t wear a diamond though as Venus is placed in the sixth house in Somanath Drekkana. Instead worship Sri Lakshmi with the mantra: om lakshmyai namaH| Start this from a Friday morning. Recite it 3×108 times per day.

In your reply to Bheebatsu (post # 69), the chart under discussion belongs to Roger Federer, one of the greatest tennis players ever with the potential to become the greatest tennis player of all times.
Now I am not sure his Navamsa lagna is correct. For such talents in sports, he must have a strong Mangal in Navamsa trikona. Do you think that Simha Navamsa makes sense for this chart? With Simha Navamsa, the dasamsa still remains the same (Makara) with Amatyakaraka Sukra in digbala.
Now my question is this - how can we see the skills he has acquired in sports from the Makara dasamsa? Mangala, though strong, does not influence the 10th house or lord of Dasamsa either by rasi drishti, placement, or argala. Please help us understand this chart.

Wear a red shirt to work everyday, or if unable to then a red tie or the likes or a red cap. This will strengthen the position of your Moon who requires neecha bhanga as well as strengthen Venus in Aries. The color of Red is that of aries. I wouldn’t advise you to wear a pearl, but do tell me how you feel about it?

You have kala sarpa yoga. This doens’t always cause problems in career, but in your case its along the fifth/eleventh house axis which is a problem for advancing in ones career and planning for the future. If the fifth house has a node, the future is obstructed.
Worship Ganesha to balance out this problem and keep a picture of him for you to meditate on. This nodal axis is essential for you to remedy.
Start with the mantra for Shakti-Vinayaka. It is: OM hriiM gaM hriiM mahaagaNapataye namaH svaahaa||
Begin from a Wednesday morning and recite it atleast 3×108 times a day. Plan to increase to 7×108 times a day.
Further, your chart shows a pitri dosha which could use some remedy. Please ensure the last rites to any paternal members of the family are performed propperly.

Utpana dasa is not applicable in your case.
Please recite the Mrityunjaya mantra 108 times every day. you will see very good results from this in your career and health as well.

Yes,for many days, even I was also under the impression that I have been running through venus vimsottari dasa calculated from Janma star.But if we notice, the utpanna star falls in the sign virgo and its bhava bala is more compared to that of moon rashi.Moreover totally 4 planets(rahu,ketu,venus,mercury) are in kendra to the sign virgo whereas only one planet Jupiter is in kendra to moon rashi.This clearly shows that utpanna tara sign is more powerful when compared to janma tara rashi.
The vimsottari dasa calculated from utpanna star gives me clear results.As per this, I am running through rahu dasa.The moment mars antardasa started, I have been facing many problems pertaining to relationships.Pls note that mars and venus are in amsa parivartana.In rashi chart Venus is in 3rd from AL which I understand is not good for relationships.I started facing these negative things in relationships(indicated by venus) in mars antardasa.Even I checked this by wearing a red coral.Mars is a yogakaraka for my horoscope.When I wore a red coral on my right hand side, the problems got intensified to such an extent I was forced to remove the red coral from me. I checked this many a times. Instead when I wore a diamond, there was a little bit of improvement in the situation.
From so many past instances, I understand that I am running through rahu dasa.Now in near future dasa of jupiter will start.Pls suggest whether there should be any changes in my profession during this period.Will there be any transformation of my present job to business during this dasa ? Will there be any change in the remedial measures if we consider the vimsottari dasa of utpanna star ?
There is a amsa parivartana between jupiter(R) and mercury as well.

I didn’t use Vimshottari dasa for you, i used Moola dasa instead. We normally use Utpana dasa when the Moon is in one of the trika houses, viz. 3, 6 or 11.
Your relationship problems are due to an afflicted Venus, why can’t Vimshottari dasa of Venus show this as well?
There is scope for change in job during Vimshottari dasa period of Jupiter antaradasa as Jupiter has a strong influence on the fifth house in Dasamsa, and your desire for job change will subside as soon as it starts, as Jupiter is not in the tenth from the Moon.

Sorry for writing again and being more specific.In the rashi chart debilitated Jupiter(R) is in 7th house from moon rashi,There is an amsa parivartana between Jup(R) with mercury.In dasamsa Jupiter is in 11th from lagna and in 8th from moon.
1)Will there be any transformation of job into business during Jupiter vimsottari dasa?
2)Will I continue my present job during the Jup(R) dasa ?
3)I understand that jupiter should give me the results of mercury bcoz of its amsa parivartana. 12th lord in 12 house and 3rd from AL! Will this jupiter vimsottari dasa be good ?
4)Which specific remedies I need to follow during this period ?
5)what will be the impact of jupiter’s 8th house placement from moon in D-10 ?

Jupiters amsa parivartana will give the results of Mercury. I’m very skeptical about the good results of Mercury being that he is afflicted in the twelfth house. I suspect health problems from this Mercury. This is not vipareet raja yoga.
You will change your job due to the blessings of Jupiter in Dasamsa. Because Jupiter is not in the tenth from Moon you will not be looking for any new jobs, and instead be slogging it out in your new job.
I have already given you the remedies based on the curse. Your problem is the curse, and not the dasa.. accept your karma and worship Tryambaka.

Dear Visti ji,
I have been depressed since childhood.My Rahu mahadasha started from 1988, and ended last
year in 2006 July.My Rahu is situated in 7th house(alone), in my rashi chart from my lagna.
I am now going through the Jupiter Mahadasha, antardasha Jupiter, since 2006 July.I was born
in 1982, 29th september,in Yamato(Kanagawa pref.), on Wednesday 12:37pm, Japan standard
time.
I will give a brief gist of my life here so that you can understand my miserable situation
so please bear with me.
when I was one month old we went to the hospital for a regular check up and the doctor found
that I was having a seizure (lucky in the sense that I had it while she was holding me in
her arms) I was immediately hospitalized and was there for a month. medication started and
continued for the next 3 years
We shifted to India in 1985 November when I was 3yrs since my medication could be stopped.
Back in India I was a very good student till(best) my 3rd grade,(1990) but after that I
started to lack concentration and gradually started to feel mentally tensed and depressed.
1992 May 9 I with my mother and brother returned to Japan to join my father who had already
shifted 6 months ago.
However there has been no peace at school and my home environment, just anywhere.
Right now I am in Japan, studying at a correspondence course in industrial psychology. But
my concentration is not there. I am also applying for jobs.I would be really grateful ,if
you could kindly suggest me how to enhance my mental peace and concentration (I am taking
some medicines for that since 1999).Also suggest me if I should keep on applying for jobs,
and about my marriage, as I am really very concerned whether and when will I get to know my
destined partner who will love me for just what I am . I am wearing a yellow sapphire which
is rather whitish in color on my index finger , right hand. I was also told to wear a cats
eye which I had worn for some time but later kept it aside. Kindly advice me if there is any
hope in my life.
Will I ever be happy or am I under a curse from where there is no way out.

Every reply from you makes me feel better, even if it is about a curse!! for now I have a choice of remedy and not live with it ignorantly, forever blaming the whole world around me.
Red is a color incidentally which I like and many of my casual are in red, orange, yellow and white. (And of course I am in the RED now very much
Unfortunately I am living in one of the most disciplined and regimentally formal countries in the World. Wearing a reddish (not complete red) tie to work is the maximum possible and I will do that.
1) Does it help if I wear red at home all the time- red bed sheets, red towels etc., this would be much easier as I would be free to use it to my hearts content without shocking the community around me.
In that case I will stick to a reddish tie when out formally(since I don’t have a job now it is not on a everyday basis) and wear as much red possible at home and for casual outings.
2) I had actually taken off the cats eye but put it on back on my little finger.
3) Thank you for the clarification as I thought depending on situations sometimes foreign travel can be a source of trouble, separation etc.
4) I must confess the following:
a) Contradictory to your advice I started the Laxmi mantra from last Friday evening and not morning (an oversight on my part)
b) I missed reciting it last Monday.
5) Regarding the pearl I will post it separately as my experience and not mix it up here with my queries so that you can read it in a different light.
May the almighty give you peace, health and happiness and the encouragement to continue your self sacrificing services to the needy.

I have been reciting the mantra and my perspective to things are changing. I am seeing reality instead of illusion.I have lost a lot in this company and my managers are feeling very bad about certain decisions. However not sure if they are powerful enough to reverse these decisions. At this stage i am very happy about the learnings/ability i have developed here and want to move on to another job.However how can i ensure i am not under illusion again and get abused
Please advise. I am indebted to a guru like you who shines light through Jyotish and calms our anxiety.

Your case is definitely a serious one. Know that in your past life you were very spiritual and were a qualified yogi. You had renounced, yet you couldn’t let go of your desire to work. For this reason in this life God will give you reason to let go of this desire. I said this all based on your Pravrajya yoga in the tenth house.
Mercury antaradasa is going to be a very nice time for you career wise, and to ensure the best for you i recommend that you worship Sri Ugra. The mantra is: om namah shivaaya ugralingaaya yam yam sah|. Begin this from a Monday morning and recite it for 16×108 times per day. You can distribute this throughout the day.
