We can use all points and principles in all divisional charts, but we must expect that they show different things in each division.
The rasi is our primary concern for us to see how exactly events affect us on a physical and gross level. We get the gross understanding of life from the rasi and an accurate analysis of the rasi can make up for a lot in predictive jyotish.
Varnada Lagna
Varnada lagna shows the dharma you do to sustain yourself. Venus and Jupiter are brahmana’s as are the watery signs. So see if Venus and/or Jupiter associate with the eleventh house/lord from Varnada lagna, or the planets associated are in watery signs. Specifically for teachers Jupiter is important whilst Venus is important for personal consultants.
Further, check the ninth lords (of rasi) sign in Shastyamsa for the actual dharma of life.
In the chart you have provided, the Varnada lagna is in Taurus. The lord of Taurus is Venus itself and can therefore show that she was born in a family who leaned towards the consulting line. Venus is placed in the eleventh therefrom in Pisces it promotes that this is in the academical line of teaching and consulting.
Amatyakaraka
The amatyakaraka works quite differently and shows karma yoga. The Amatyakaraka takes the responsibility of feeding the Atmakaraka and therefore shows whom the Atma is dependant on in this birth. The specific form which feeds the atma is the Palana Devata (sixth from amatyakaraka in navamsa) and is the form of the mother (moon).
In Jyotish to understand the mother/moon better we must understand the udu dasas. Specifically the Vimshottari dasa relates to our sustenance in soceity and community and should be used for reference.
Here a cycle of dependency needs to be understood and if we count in order beginning from Krittka nakshatra, in modules of three, we get the following order of lordships:

| Sun | Moon | Mars |
| Rahu | Jupiter | Saturn |
| Mercury | Ketu | Venus |
With this we get three working-classes of society. The upper class ruled by the politicians (sun), business men (mercury) and organized crime or unions (rahu).
The middle class ruled by public servants (moon), teachers and instructors (jupiter) and the priests and mystics (Ketu).
The lower class are the blue-collar workers, or those who have to exert brawns rather than brains (Saturn), the security force including police and military (Mars) and the entertainment sector who wish to attract and capture the minds of the public (Venus).
These class-divisions do not speak of the financial standing of those in them.
Now, as a start you can expect to find that the natives amatyakaraka is associated with one of the three grahas indicating the working-class of the native. I.e. in the chart supplied Mars is the amatyakaraka and receives the rasi dristi of both Moon and Ketu which belong to the middle class and academical sector.
Coming to the dependencies we can refine our understanding of the chart. A politician (Sun) is dependent on the unions (used to be organized crime - Rahu) to get votes. Therefore to be a politician one needs Rahu associated with Amatyakaraka - not Sun. Similarly businessmen (Mercury) depend on the laws made by the politicians (Sun) and therefore Sun has to be associated with the Amatyakaraka of a good businessmen. Knowing this you can draw a triangular dependency diagram.
Sanyasis (Ketu) will have Moon associated with their Amatyakaraka, public servants (Moon) will have Jupiter associated with their Amatyakaraka and finally teachers (Jupiter) will have Ketu associated with their amatyakaraka as per this principle.
In the attached chart of the professor, we did indeed find Ketu having rasi dristi on the Amatyakaraka promoting the academical profession.
Raja-sambandha yoga: If the tenth house/lord or the Atmakaraka associates with the Amatyakaraka then the native will associate with the topmost people in their field and be succesful in this.
Authors comment: Check if a graha is associated with both the Amatyakaraka and the Atmakaraka/Tenth house. The profession of that graha as outlined above will surely give success.
In the given chart Ketu is having Rasi dristi on the Amatyakaraka and is in kendra to the Atmakaraka (variation of rajasambandha yoga) ensuring that success will come in the academical field.
Dasamsa
In the chart you have given, if you add 44 seconds to the birth time she would be a teacher in a long-term profession due to Jupiter in the second house. Moon and Rahu in Jupiters signs can indicate the nature of her teaching.

Before approaching the Dasamsa chart, two factors namely the Amatyakaraka and the Varnada Lagna should be perused to see 1) those whom the native depends on to do their work and therefore also the field of work; 2) the varna or dharma that the person must uphold in their work.
Through the above we should be able to fine tune that the native is working within the academical field (amk) and acts as a guide/consultant to people (varnada lagna). You will see more work on these important factors in the future.

Now, in the dasamsa check to see if service is dominating or business. No planets are in sixth or seventh yet the sixth lord is in Lagna.
Now see if Sun (public service) or Venus (private sector) are stronger. Sun is exalted in the fifth house showing that work in public sector will dominate, but Venus in the lagna shows that the native will prefer to involve himself in work for private companies.
Next check the arthatrikona to see what the native will do in these sectors. The planets in the arthatrikona will show long term professions held for a considerable amount of time. Rahu is in the tenth in Virgo showing research and development. Its placed in a mercurial sign showing that this can be either in the educational field or economics. Jupiter is in the second house and aspects Rahu in the tenth confirming that this is focused on teaching and consulting where his primary work will be. The debility of Jupiter is good for finances but nor for stress levels.

Very nice article.In my D-10 chart my business house is strong with saturn in the 7th house which is also amatyakaraka but it is in parivartana with mercury which is in 2nd house which is also atmakaraka,so i should be doing the work concerning saturn and mercury for success in life but what is it that i must be doing? Please give your opinion.

The activity must start from the seventh house and the planets in it. The parivartana will naturally activate once the activity has started.
So start a business in an area concerning re-construction or repairs of something. This could be repairs or reconstruction of databases if you were into software.

Native’s VL in Taurus with Moon and 11th from VL contains Sani and Rahu, What is dharma of this lady?

First let me say thank you for some great advice last spring to do Nageshwar Jyotir lingam sadhana. Helped me a lot. A week after the 40 day practice there was a rattlesnake in the garden. We just let it be . Some neighbors had a rattlesnake problem and they killed it. They had bad luck almost immediately afterwards. Ours just benignly disappeared. On to my question: I still am having confusion and delays regarding my career. Any quick helpful hints? I may get a full reading from you. My info: May 4, 1963 1:55 pm Oakland CA

I am currently doing some substitute teaching, and some healing work. In general I am living in a remote place and doing quite a bit of meditation, having good bhavas. I just started doing the Om Hrum Brum Chaitanyayai Namah mantra with phenomenal results. I really enjoyed your article on Agni, it clarified things for me. I have a brick havan kund in my garage in front of the Durga altar and have had some excellent fire ceremonies there. Years ago a vedic astrologer told me I would become a successful healer…currently I am in a bit of an ob scure place with career.. Sani transiting first house.

In the natal chart of a native I have been given to understand that Sun is Karaka for the career change.Is it so or are there any other plants which acts as SUN for the career change.In the book of Mr Chowdhary he has mentioned that there would be two significators for career change. Primary and Secondary. Is it true. Does a career change occur in an antar dasa also if the SUN is occpupying 10th House . In my case the SUN would be occupying the 10th house the house of career/profession in the month of April 1st 2008. The main dasa is Saturn with the antar dasa of Sun

It’s been a long time since we last chatted. Wonder if you still remember me!
I think you are doing an awesome job of spreading the knowledge of jyotish and I really like you style of speaking/teaching - very articulate and patient.
Anyways, you mentioned that “10th from lagna show HOW you work”, and “10th form Moon” is more important. Can you elucidate a bit more on that?
As far as I understand it right now, 10th from lagna shows how good or bad native feels about his job, but real job conditions are to be ascertained form 10th from Moon.
But then it doesn’t make sense. Moon represents the mind, and hence 10th from Moon should be how native feels about his job. Whereas 10th from lagna must show the reality.

Seeing a rattle snake after your 40 days of Jyotirlinga sadhana could be an omen of the Lord accepting your sadhana. I would love to hear Visti ji’s comment on this. I know next to nothing about omens, but have for long held the common Indian notion of associating Lord Shiva with snakes.
During my teens, I once saw a snake during the Gouri vrata (held by unmarried girls in India; it is to do with worship of Shiva to beget a husband like Him). Now in the hindsight, I must say that my husband adores Lord Shiva, and imbibes the quality of the Neelakantha Himself - he has a tendency to drink poison (aka bitterness) of people around him, and yet shower his sweet nectarine smile. I have long held that the snake I saw during that Vrata was an omen of the blessing I was to receive in the form of my husband.

She won’t be able to decide on nor get a resonable profession until the Shraddha yoga is remedied in her chart. This is because the tenth lord from Moon is Saturn and in this yoga.
Therefore advise her to recite the 8-syllable Surya mantra: Om ghrini Surya-aditya. We don’t want her to do the work of that Shraddha yoga… not good for health at all.

I think i have clarified this in my previous talks on professions. The order is sixth, tenth and second houses. In each house the first is the planets there, then lord then rasi dristi of planets.
The long term/permanent professions are those of planets placed in the sixth, tenth or second houses. The last profesion is usually the one associated with the third or eighth houses.

The is the significator of career change as he is the one responsible for providing available jobs… he is the employer. Therefore the sign which is responsible for giving new jobs is Leo. Leo is the natural fifth house and for the specific chart in question the fifth from the dasamsa lagna shows when a new job may arise. So see the fifth house, planets in it, its lord and their yogas to determine which dasa will bring a new job opportunity.

A basic point missed when analysing the Moon is that it shows your community and community support. I.e. the seventh lord from Moon is responsible for supporting marriage in your community, whilst tenth lord from Moon is responsible for promoting a job in your community. If there is a lack of support from the community to do anything, you may give up or be forced to move to attain your support. This way the Moon is the true sustainer of our life in the community. Trines to the Moon should be seen for the way we feel… The Moon itself shows how we make others feel!!
The tenth from the Lagna shows how our dhi or intelligence responds to work. Here we can draw a cleare understanding from the six seasons of work, as Mercury is the main karaka for the tenth and also presides over the seasons. Saturn rules winter where noone works due to all the snow and ice, and Saturn in the tenth house makes a person work quite slowly and they at times have problems living up to job demands. In this way you can learn the rest. I believe its even in my book.

but no children so far, all my contemporaries settled

I need your help and blessings because while everything else is OK, my career seems to have stuck after I lost my job in May 2007. I can be successful in teaching, training and consultation but despite several efforts nothing seems to be working for me. I am getting disappointed. Kindly tell what is in store for me as far as my work life is concerned. Rahu dasha is to begin from May 2008 and Rahu in Kanya in 11th house is considered good.

By Shraddha i meant the act of appeasing the ancestors. This yoga specifically causes one ancestor to have not been appeased properly and there would be a great deal of sorrow (Saturn) due to this.
The difficulties associated with this must be seen from the placement and lordship of Saturn and the nodes.
In this life such difficulties are triggered by the demise of someone in the family. This is paternal side is the yoga is in the visible half of the chart, and maternal if otherwise.
The remedy is the Surya-Astakshari mantra: Om Ghrini Surya-Adityaa|. This should be recited for 3×108 times per day starting from a Sunday.

Your chart has a rare yoga called Grahamalika yoga. In your case it initiates in the second house and ends in the ninth house.
This need not be bad in all cases and can cause great rise in life, but just as a necklace is dependant on the two knots in the two ends of the string, so also your life is dependant only on TWO grahas… ONLY. Due to this you will find many remedial measures not working at all… and mostly because many astrologers don’t know how to tackle this yoga.
In your case the initial end of the string has an auspicious Jupiter in Sagittarius ensuring strong skill-set and foundation for attaining good wealth and finances.
But the end of the string houses Ketu in the badhaka sthana. Malefics in Badhaka sthana can perpetually delay and deny fortune indefinitely and for the most weirdest reasons.
Specifically in your case it shows that Ketu being the lagnesh and placed in the sixth from the Sun has caused you to unknowingly (badhaka sthana) make mistakes which have delayed your fortune.
I have three remedies for this issue of yours:
1) Wear a yellow sapphire so the errors will end and your hands will no longer act in obstruction to your future.
2) Get Gold or Pearl Bhasma (alchemical powder) from an ayurvedic doctor, and begin mixing this in your diet. This will ensure that you can have children. Follow the Ayurvedic Doctors prescription.
3) Guru Worship is primary for you. The mantra: om gurubhyo namah| is a mantra to worship ALL the gurus. I recommend this in your case.
In one years time you should see some good results due to this. I hope you will follow my advise.

We can move the dasamsa lagna to Scorpio without it changing the navamsa. But tell me, if your work is more research oriented, then you are essentially a type of bio-chemist as far as work is concerned? If so then Sagittarius navamsa is fine due to Venus in tenth and Mercury in trines.

I hope you are reciting a mantra for Ganesha and meditating as per my advise. Grahas in the fifth delay work because the visualisation the native has isn’t good enough, especially if the nodes are there. So please meditate as i have specified, as i wasn’t kidding around when i gave you that advise.
Your jobloss in May was two years in the making. Evidently the best possible work you could have done since then until May this year is business. Once Rahu mahadasa starts you will definitely be working again. Look forward to that and follow my advise.

Just i have few doubts, with regards to Graha mallika yoga, you said, when there is graha mallika yoga,entire life is dependent on two grahas, i.e starting and ending planets of the string.you also said, this can make somebody very sucessuful and very malefic too, i would be grateful to you, if you can tell few general prinicples as to how to analyse this
1)what does the houses having the starting and ending planets indicate?? does this indicate the direction of life???? i.e in this case 2nd house and 9th house, how to interpret the 2nd house and 9th house aspects in this yoga??
2)How to interpret the lordship of the planets in these two houses, ie. starting and ending, in this case, the yoga is inititated from 2nd lord and ended by lagna lord??
3)what is the significance of charakarakas in this yoga?? how to interpret this,

I don’t have a career as of now.Though i graduated in medicine 10 years ago i did a few insignificant jobs—first one for 3 mths in ‘97, second one for 3 mths in ‘99 and the third one for 6 mths in 2002 in uk.the third job was very stressful but it gave me a lot of money.the problem why my career did not take off was stress and lack of interest.
recently i was trying to look for a research job but something has come up in the last week.I have an opportunity to do MBA in health care management and i am trying to enroll myself into a business school to do this and also looking for a job in a pharmaceutical company to pay for it.I am really interested to do this and looking forward to it which will give me an opportunity to climb the ladder in the pharmaceutical industry.so in a way you are right because i always liked chemistry and biochemistry in school and college,looks like i am moving in that direction.in dasamsa my 6th lord is in 10th house,10th lord in 2nd house,10th lord in 2nd and 2nd lord in 7th—is one thing leading to another? sorry for the lengthy mail but i hope this can help in rectifying my amsa lagnas.

My first job was in Telephones Dept of the Government, second a bank which was for 22 years. I am unemployed since Novemeber 29 2004. Strangely I could not get a job in the country I relocated to despite experience, qualifications.. I am now studying Bachelors in Nursing and PG in HR Management. 1)From the dasamsa lagna in the 4th house there is no planet. How do we analyse this house regarding the office. The house is having Pieces as rashi sign

Compliments again to your mastery over jyotish and ability to articulate it!
This is not related to profession as such, but I didn’t see any other section to post it in. This relates to remedies that are often recommended if one is having a bad time in career, personal life etc.
It is said that the planets influence the flow of prana in the body. In fact, each planet is associated with a chakra in the body. Planets influence our minds, bodies and the events taking place outside by altering this flow of prana/maha-prana.
In case this flow of energies is out of balance, bad situations occur (diseases, unfortunate events etc.)
It can therefore be inferred that anything that re-balances this pranic flow will constitute a remedy.
In such a case, can we say that it is not necessary to wear any gemstones etc. If we are facing hard time in profession, career etc., all we have to do is take to diligent practice of Hatha yoga, Kundalini yoga, Karma yoga etc., since these practices are said to optimize the energies regardless of the person’s chart.
Therefore, shouldn’t diligent practice of yoga (to the best of our capabilities) be the BEST remedy of all (instead of fretting over astrological analysis and gemstones and mantras)?
I have never seen this aspect of jyotish addressed anywhere.

Sorry, to be more specific in addition to the above, if the 7th is stronger than the 6th one is inclined to predict business rather than service but what are the variable if any that indicate while the inclination is towards business, can the business partners be trustworthy? How do we confirm that the partnership in business would be successful and the native will not be cheated?

While I leave your query to be addressed by respected Visti ji, I am unable to resist my temptation of mentioning that while Jyotish is a ‘vedang’, Yoga is an ‘upang’ meaning Jyotish encompasses Yoga and not the other way around.

As per my chart Rahu is placed in the 9th house. As you said that a planet alone will not give marana like effect. But here the Rahu is deblitated in the simha rahi from rasi lagna.
But 9th bhava represents dharma sthana(pertainning to work/Productivity and result oriented)and the 5th house where the rahu is debilitated also is in the dharma sthana.. How do you look such a scenario

This is one of the most important lectures that i have ever given, and i really recommend those serious about Jyotish to go through it.
As for Lagnesh and Surya: the placement of the lagnesh from Surya shows how the intellect is working for the native, i.e. is it benefitting the person or not. When Lagnesh is in Dusthana from Surya, then this problem arises and can bring mistakes, misery and loss. I chose Ketu because its the weakest placed among the two grahas in the yoga.

I think Sag dasamsa is right for you to pursue your desired field then.
I think your missing some interpretation steps which can be learnt in my earlier lectures on profession. I.e. you need to see the lord of a house and also the aspects on the house to cover all the jobs.

Your chart is a good example for learners. In your rasi, the tenth lord from Lagna and Moon is Jupiter, which is well placed and was supposed to give you support throughout your career. Now see the divine intervention from the navamsa dispositor of the same, namely Venus. Venus is involved in a curse of spouse and is in the eighth house of relocation along with joining the Jalapatana Saham to confirm the same.
Therefore Venus mahadasa would have brought the first streak of unemployment in an otherwise sound career. Further, see that the fourth lord from the Sun (Abhijeet) is also Venus and would show lack of ability to do karma as a result.
Your problem is the curse and it requires a remedy more than anything else. Which remedy do you suggest?

Rahu in sixth gives work in research departments. I assume you are reffering to Rahu in Taurus? That gives research into all aspects of longevity and health.
With that Rahu placed there you will be very good at your job and a boon to the world of medicine.

3) If no planets are in either, then principally they are equally strong in results. For strength rules learn Narayana dasa. Dasas aspecting or lording these signs can make one stronger than the other.

5) Tenth house in D10 or Rasi? In D10 it shows your skill set whilst in Rasi it shows how you work.
Rasi Dristi doesn’t block anything… Argala can though - I think you have misunderstood a point here.

I feel that your view of prana is lacking a dimension since you have not mentioned that mantra itself balances the prana, and that mantra is in itself making the chakras more balanced.
Who said Hatha yoga was the BEST to optimize prana? There is a dimension lacking here. Indeed Hatha yoga will help if you have a good teacher.

Your missing a dimension as well. You have yet to ask the vital question: strength to do what? It is yoga which gives good or bad results and this needs to be interpreted.
In the future please give the full chart details so I don’t need to guess the timezone.
A very simple point is the placement of the rasi-tenth lords Saturn and Rahu in the seventh house in Dasamsa. This gives them Digbala and with Saturns exaltation there it would make the native extremely succesful. If this is also associated with the Ghatika Lagna and Hora Lagna then alot of success will arise in life and the person will become famous. We find both associated here and this is what differentiates him from simply a guy with a good idea and a guy with a good idea who can implement it.
But there’s much more to this chart which we can start with in the rasi chart. Do however keep in mind the above points. Tenth lord in Rasi chart must have 1) digbala in d10 or be strong in D10, and 2) be associated with the GL, HL and Lagna. Then great success is promised. After this you must analyze the nature of the success based on the planets who are giving it.
Back to the rasi, as we surely cannot be good astrologers without seeing the rasi properly. A clear indication of his rise is seen from that tenth lord Saturn joined Amatyakaraka Moon… uff what a nice yoga to have. When the amatyakaraka joins either the tenth house/lord or the atmakaraka then the native has Rajyasambandha yoga and will associate with the topmost people in their profession.
Moon is amatyakaraka and shows an interest in benefitting the community, i.e. teaching or social work would be of interest to him.
Saturn would promote him towards the field of entertainment. Also see the dispositor Sun who would lead him towards more financial-type businesses.
He started teaching from 17 onwards as the Bhava-Naisargika dasa of Sagittarius began exactly from 17-25 wherein which his tenth lord from Moon is posited. This is involved in a Dvi-guru Yoga which would give teaching and the likes, but would also provide him with opportunities to travel abroad during the same time (eighth house can give relocation for work).
This would be of benefit to the native as Venus is combust by the Sun and therefore cancels the pravrajya yoga caused by Venus in sixth from AL.
I hope these steps lead you in the right direction.

Your inference is not entirely correct, because I’m sure that Siddhartha is not referring merely to exercises and eight steps/practices of yoga, but to the actual full spiritual practice given down by the Rishi Kapila. Therefore this belongs as a Vedanga called Kalpa, which is the head of the Veda.
Mantra is part of Yoga, don’t you think?

I am currently working in a fortune 200 company. I joined this company straight out of business school and have been with them for the last 5.5 years.
During this time, i have several attempts to change jobs (in asset/money management and consulting) but have not been successful. Several times I have come very close to getting the offer but something or the other has happened to prevent me from actually landing the job.

I tried to post this in remedies section, but it seems to be closed.
I think you misunderstood my point. I am not disputing the effectiveness of traditional Jyotish remedies like mantras, gemstones etc. I am sure they affect the body, mind as well as the pranas. In that sense, remedies are themselves are a type of yoga (in fact, “Mantra Yoga” is well known).
So I will re-phrase the question: Would anything that balances the chakras and the pranas constitute a remedy? Any practice/sadhana that claims to clean out the samskaras will help turn the tides of misfortunes?
The point that I am making is that a traditional Jyotish remedy requires a Jyotishi. Good Jyotishis are hard to find, and most of the good ones are unaffordable (at least for me).
Moreover, most of the remedies are not feasible for someone like me. I do not have access to gemstones (I do not like wearing them for that matter). I don’t have any golden eggs to give away. I do not have much to give away in terms of food and clothes. Specific Mantra Japa is something I can do, but then again, that requires a good astrologer.
For a person like me, practices of Hatha yoga, Kundalini yoga, as well as more esoteric practices such as Kriya yoga are a godsend. They promise to clean up the samskaras (and consequently the karmas) of everyone REGARDLESS of the chart. They don’t require all these fancy measures. All they ask for is diligence and regularity of practice.
These practices definitely ease the burden on the mind during times of crises. That much I can attest from experience.
I want your opinion about whether these yoga practices can actually affect the tides of destiny. I am fairly certain that they should (since destiny is nothing but unfolding samskaras, which are all buried in our own mind/body/koshas), but I needs confirmation.
I remember reading somewhere that “Jyotish reveals the battlefield of life to us, but Yoga is the weapon that help us fight those battles”.
The reason I ask is that I am going through a really bad period of my life (much of it due to my own doing, no doubt). I need some practice that I can do easily and put my faith into.

Why don’t you just ask me for a mantra if your suffering?
Nevertheless, the answer to your question is YES. But, just as a specific mantra is required for specific problems, there are specific excercises to do to overcome certain karmas. These are known by a qualified Guru, so even if you know the methods of Kundalini and Hatha Yoga, you still need someone who knows the subject well to teach you.

Amtmakaraka Mars and Amatyakaraka Sat: My analysis for Dashamsha:
Jup Lagna, Ma and Ve in the 2nd houses of resources but MA is having a parivartana with mercury so perhaps wud act as Me. So Me wud mean trading ability and Ve wud mean eye for design and stuff like that. 6th has ketu and 7th has moon. Using the thumb rule that Generally if 6th is strong, native is in service and if 7th is strong native is self employed. I am involved with some internet business as well but i doono if ketu would signify that. Moon in 7th could mean food business or food related? but i am not involved in that as of now. May be it wud be triggered later?
10th lord saturn is in its own house perhaps would mean hard work.Sat is amatyakaraka and in own house in 10th and in Kuber Amsa but retro. Would that mean always working hard?
Pls give me an insight cause frankly i have no profession and just trying to establish my textile business but its stuck due to something or the other always. Hope ur analysis can help clear my doubts over retro motion as well

considering just natal chart, i see wierd results:)
10th house lord is placed in the fifth. mars is exalted in the 10th and is aspected by jup,shudnt Mars and jupiter connection make the native profession relating to Investments?
Another thought could be: Lord of 3rd House Mercury is Placed in 11th House which would perhaps show gains from trading?
Also with Lord of 8th House Mars is Placed in 10th House. The 8th House has been referred to as ‘Koop’ or well. It means that profession could be linked with those things that are mined out of the earth like coal, metals, minerals etc. are to be related to the 8th House.
Mars being in exaulted in the 10th house of karma and i am not related to any power position or real estate which Mars usually represents. Mars is also being aspecting by jup but i doono what that signifies.
Sorry to ask outside dashamsha’s domain but i cant make sense of career comparing natal and dashmasha.

Ketu in 5H (native worshipped shakti ganapati mantra to get the direction in life).
10th lord from Lagna is Jupiter (placed in 8H in debilitation), Whose navamsha sign dispositor Mars is the AK placed in 10H.
10th lord from Moon is Venus (exalted in 10H from Lagna, AmK as well) but the navamsha sign dispositor Jupiter is in 8H from Lagna in debilitation.
Native is in doing a part time job at meagre salary. Can you kindly suggest some remedials for improvement opportunity in career and oblige.
Can the rajya-sambandha of 10L-Venus being AmK itself and placed in 10H from Lagna in close conjunction with AK (Mars) confer its effects to improve the career in future.

Would you kindly clarify two points :
a) How to calculate Arudha lagna for Tarus lagna with Venus in lagna itself ?
b)For determining profession, having listed all planets joined,aspecting or lording lagna and Arudha lagna we see which ones are placed in trines from navmansha-lagna. What if there are no planets in both trines from navmansha-lagna ?

Sorry for posting in the wrong page but I did post it under “BOOKS” about 10 days back.Just a thought after going through your book…It would certainly help if you could include a chapter on the procedure of chart analysis….I mean the standard steps which an astrologer should follow. I remember that Shri Freedom’s site had a writeup on what he followed but it is no longer there…Maybe you can write one here and later put it in your new book too!!

1.I have an exalted rahu(amk) in 10 house but in d10 it is in 8 house (one think +ve and another is -ve)
2.mer(ak & LL) the lord of 10 house in 6 house but in d10 it is in 10 house (one think +ve and another is -ve)

In Lagana Chart Ak(mer) is in 6 house so native is diseased and troubled Propitiate but in navams Ak is in 10 house tso native is blessed with a clean heart and good home the moon in strengh Shall be an added blessing for this and here moon is exalted and conjunction with ak(mer) (again one think +ve and another -ve)
AmatyaKaraka (Rahu) have dristi of mer,ven,moon in navamsa Chart so Amatyakaraka associated with both the atmakaraka and tenth house lord.so here i am little confused what professions???

I am facing troubled jobs right from the beginning of my career due to lack of support and problems at workplace.
In my 10th house ,I see that 6th lord guru ,8th lord venus and 12 th lord mercury are conjoined together.Here 6th and 8th lords are combust whereas 12th lord mercury is not

Capricorn Navamsa Sat is with Sun in saggitarius{12th house}
Dasamsa –Sat is in 7th house in center aspecting Mars{PK}which is in ASc{1st house}in Libra.Moon PK is in 4th{capricorn}aspecting cancer 10th house] which is empty.

I am still trying to understand my change in career, unable to get the concept.
I am hearing to lectures given my Shri Visti and Shri Narsimha Rao what I could understand by both the lectures are that for career we need to check 2,6 and 10th houses and the placement of its lord in diff houses/argala/rasi and graha dristi
Analyzied all the above concept and what I could understand is given below:
In the D-1 chart the lord venus is placed along with the Asc and in d-10 it is in the 10th house hence I would be interested in Venutian jobs with hold some authority or power
A)The lord of 9th house (Sun) is in 1st house in d-10 in sg sign which denotes that I would be inclined towards some spiritual job which also holds some authority/power/administration. The Sun is in 1st and the 9th house which is trines and laxmi sthana which would bring name/fame and money
B)Sun has argala on 2nd/4th and 5th house 11th house which will control the affairs of these house.
1)2nd house is the house of fortue or wealth which will bring gains to me in my career
2)4th house is the house of office which shows that I would have some control in daily work
3)5th house is the house of new job opening which means I would get some job offers during the SUN PD
At the same time 4th house has got argala on 5th/7th and 8th house
Specially if I look at the 8th house it is lorded by Rahu and Jupiter. Rahu gives the look of the office as it is some sort of godown or dungon and the Moon indicates tall building with a white paint
6th house is lorded by Saturn and it indicates that work with pressures and low ended jobs.
Sun has graha dristi on 7th house which is lorded by Moon and owned by Venus that mean it is house of relation ship but mainly with women folk
I have got only one confusion how do we check as to when there would be change in job and how to check for the same. Kindly help me in understanding the same..

My case is similar to Ramesh. Too many obstructions in career, superiors not supportive. Have been trying to change jobs for sometime now. No luck. In fact, luck never seems to favor me easily, too much hard work and delays. Any help would be appreciated, getting very frustrated.

Native- female - born Sept 11, 1976 @ 12.40am in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia 7.30GMT.
Asc in D-1 Sco.
Lord of D-10 from lagna Sun in own house in Leo and exalted in D-10 in Aries
Lord of 10th from Moon – Jupi (sag) in the 7th and own house in D-10 (pisces)
The native is a practicing lawyer since 2002. Can we say the trines between Jup and Mars in D-10 made her a lawyer – and specifically Mars since she is litigation lawyer dealing with accident cases. What is the effect of Jupiter’s aspects on Venus and Moon? (Trines between Jupi – Mars+Venus – Moon). Moon is the Amk.
Although Sun is exalted in D-10 and in Leo in D-1 – Can I go ahead and predict business is a better choice for the native. Since

In D-9 we need to look at the depositors of Jupiter (Pis) and Sun (Mars).

o Mars has joined Venus who is in exchange with Mercury. Hence all these periods Mars-Venus- and Mercury can give wealth. What about Saturn?
o Venus seems to be the weakest link hence the current period of Venus Vimsottri Dasha may not present great opportunities or events.

Dear Vishti Ji,
I have an academic interest in Astrology with emphasis on spiritual meaning of the planetary positions.
One question comes up time and again in my mind… When a planet is RETROGRADE, does one need to find the houses on which a planet has the DRISHTI by using the REGULAR DIRECTION in a horoscope or in the REVERSE DIRECTION?
Further, does this RULE apply for all calculations wherein houses are to be counted with respect to a planet, for example, while calculating ARGALA for planets.
