Retrograde planets do not cast different aspects. There is no basis for this in the ancient texts.
A debilitated planet is debilitated. This we cannot change. But when the planet gets retrograde then it has a desire to overcome debilitation… so it wants to achieve exaltation. This is what the Parampara teaches.

To clarify what the ancients have given us to understand regarding this. It is said that a planet in exaltation will when retrograde give zero results of its exaltation.
These teachings are based on 1) Parasara, 2) Varahamihira and 3) Saravali.

Reg. your chart, please go through similar examples which i have shown earlier among these comments.

The house placements in navamsa, aren’t relevant in this case, but the sign placements are. This doesn’t mean the navamsa-houses aren’t important, just that for this purpose i will omit them.

1. Venus’ position in seventh from AL is ok. Its retrogression is a problem and should be overcome through Lakshmi worship. Benefics are auspicious in eighth from AL, but in this case Mercury can block loans from being returned to you.

2. The houses in D9 carry a completely different significance in this regard, and isn’t relevant in this context.

Doomed is the wrong word. Do see whether their positions are benefiting him or not based on the arudha lagna. Also check Mercury and Venus from the Arudha lagna as they are essential to show whether a native will be part of this world or not.

Everything affects everything. But, the effects of parivartana in any form or manner doesn’t change the retrogression, but does affect the persons life.
In the example you cite it is still amsa parivartana, regardless of the retrogression.

I was intrigued by your write-up on retrograde planets and I have a related question.

DOB 8-8-1956 at 5:25 am, Madras, India.

Please notice that there are no retrograde planets in this Cancer Ascendant chart although both Saturn (Stationary Direct) and Mars (Stationary Retrograde) are stationary.

Mars is at 0.21 Pisces (yes, 21 minutes into Meena!) and Saturn is at 2.58 Vrischika.

Are both Mars and Saturn “doomed” in this chart? Especially as Saturn is conjunct Rahu and Mars is, well, WEAK!

The native has forsworn marriage and children; is spiritually inclined towards Maharishi Ramana and J Krishnamurti, but Venus in the 12th makes matters difficult, not to mention the fairly strong second house.

I’d be grateful for your comments when you find the time to respond.

I have venus(R) in 4th house in taurus and mercury(R) and combust in 5th house gemini in D1…In D9 venus(R) is in 6th house in cancer and mercury(R) is vargottama in gemini in 5th…so here r my questions:

1.venus and mercury,going by ur other posts,r very powerful in D1;especially venus being a yogakaraka and 7th 2 AL…but mercury is in 8th to AL so will it dilute the effects….also mercury is combust…so wots the significance of it

2.venus is in 6th in D9…does it reduce the benefic effects of yogakaraka retrograde well placed in D1

First check the exaltation/own sign in Rasi and navamsa. If there is no such thing, then know that the retrogression need not be inauspicious… How about if they are involved in curses? Check that lecture also.

Place- Dombivli,India (73 E 5′0″ , 19 N 12′0″ ,+5:30:00 East of GMT).

This female has Saturn(R) in Lagna in exalation sign and in 7 th house has Sun,Me,Ma.Ju(R) and UL are in 2nd house.
Is she having any curse in chart?7th house has Malefics and aspected by Sa(R) so,does it give maretial problems?

Almost made a mistake with your chart due to typing it incorrectly.
Gajakesari with Jupiter in the twelfth house gives great blessings through foreigners, spirituality and meditation. In other words the house where Jupiter is placed will benefit. This is good. However, the retrogression of Jupiter in its exaltation sign is like a curse and shows how a material desire can completely inhibit the rajayoga of the fifth lord Jupiter.
Saturns position is good as its exaltation in navamsa gets denied and it thus promotes blessings and fortune in the fifth from arudha lagna, and denies enemy action. There are a few problems with this due to sixth lord in lagna.

For this problem you must sing to the devata. But why ignore the pitri-badhaka in the eleventh house? Your father can see considerable sorrow in his life due to his children. Best remedy is to be good to father and solve those issues. Further Ensuring that the Shraddha performances are being done. As an extra we advise the mantra: Om Ghrini Surya-Aditya|

Wearing Coral would strengthen Mars. But Mars is also the Badhakesh for Capricorn lagna. Wouldn’t it be like strengthening the Badhakesh, hence inviting troubles. I was just wondering about this contradiction where the same planet is the Badhakesh and also the savior.

Of course I will try wearing as much Black as possible in terms of clothes for atleast a week.

You cannot use gemstones/colors to strengthen planets in kendra to Moon, unless they are in kendra to lagna.
For those in kendra to the manakaraka-Moon, use Mantra.
For those in kendra to the tanukaraka-lagna, use Tantra (gemstones/colors).

So for Mars in Libra where a coral (Mars) or wear black colored clothes (Libra). Do this for atleast a weak consistently and see the effects.

Yes, i perform the buddhastami puja and the mantras. They are given in the Bhavishya Purana, do read.

This person does have Badhaka, but the twelfth from Badhakesha is only aspected/joined by benefics, hence the Badhaka is not very strong. Yet it will bring enmity and troubles as Shastesha Shani is yuti Badhakesha. Yes they will use Abhicara to hurt his life as Badhakesha is Neech, and he should fall sick as a result.
Here is the procedure to be undertaken by him as given by Sanjay Rath:

1. Keep an idol of Jagannath made in neem or his Ishta Devata: Durga.
2. Keep a kalasha (earthern pot) full of water (that is to be drunk by the family) and recite the mantra 108 times for the jala abhimantrana [Ku-Kritya shanti]

om sam saam sim siim sum suum seim saim soum saum sam sah vam vaam vim viim vum vuum veim vaim voum vaum vam vah hamsah amrita-varcchase svaahaa

om + 12 shakta bija (sa) with the 12 vowels for the 12 rasi + 12 jala bija (va) with the 12 vowels for the 12 rasi

This wanter is now to be drunk by the native and the family for purity.

3. Now the third step is to prevent the happening of untoward events [Vividha Aapad shanti]

Either remembering Hanuman, Shiva or Lord Narasimha or any other deity recite the following mantra 1008 times

om haum kshraum hamsah ham

4. Finally we should also address the very cause of all these anxiety and problems so that they may not recur [Devata Shanti Prayog]

If you are initiated into the bijas then the mantra ‘om namo bhagavate vasudevaaya’ is like thunder as the devata is UGRA MADHUSUDANA..Krishna in the battle field. You can do another mantra also -

om shante prashante sarva-krodha-pashamani svaahaa

After this recite the mantra: Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaaya.
