Dear Visti-ji, Namaskar.

Is "pri" considered a 'pa' akshara OR 'ra' akshara?

a. If my name falls on the 9th house(Aqua) with Rahu within does the name increase 'durbhagya'? Does the same increase wealth via shady means(rahu) if placed in 11th from AL? Does lord of Aqua, Saturn, being Neecha worsen the situation?
b. What about a name that falls in Pieces(10th from lagna and 12th from AL)? Will that cause expenses to increase? Or will it be good for career?[Jupiter(cursed by Rahu and Saturn) in the 5th(Libra) with Venus(R)].

Which name(Aqua @ Pieces name rashi) is the better option?

My Birth details for these queries:
Date of Birth: November 23 1970
Time of Birth: 21:30 PM
TimeZone: +7:30 GMT
Location: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Thank You,
Priya

हरे राम कृष्ण॥
Dear Pram, Namaskar.
The first akshara is based on the Shastyamsa lagna and its Jagannath Drekkana.
Do the following:
1. Find the nama-aksharas residing in the hoda chakra (nakshatra chakra). Alot them to the signs they preside in, i.e. cha and chi are in Pisches, chu, che and cho are in Aries, etc.
Based on this you will get the signs of the first aksharas.

2. See the shastyamsa lagna. If there are planets take the strongest. If none then take the lord.

3. See the above planet in the Jagannath drekkana, here you must find the sign. The aksharas you have found in that sign will be the same as those found in #1.

Example: First akshara in my name is 'va'. Note that in Sanskrit 'va' and 'ba' are interchangeable, hence in the east they have no 'va' and instead say 'bishnu' and 'shiba'. My Shastyamsa lagna has been rectified to Aries (ketu in it indicating learner of a vedanga). Lord is Mars and Mars becomes the focal point in the Jagannath Drekkana.
In the Jagannath Drekkana Mars is placed in Sagittarius rasi. The nakshatras in Sagittarius don't have the 'va' syllables, but in Mula nakshatra which resides in Sagittarius we find the syllables ye, yo, ba, bi, bu, tha, bha, dha, and be. It became 'bi'/'vi'.

Hope this points you on the right track.
Yours sincerely, Visti Larsen

हरे राम कृष्ण॥
Dear Tarun Namaskar
A good and thorough reference is the appendix of VRA, but the nakshatra syllables alphabet is somewhat illusive if you don't know the transliteration used.

I have tried to give the steps in the article, i.e.
1. Find strongest Graha
2. Compare its syllables to the best nakshatra.
etc.

When you learn about Mantra chandah you learn that the first mantra is called the Janma diksha where the child is given a name. This is the first mantra and consists of 2 syllables as a minimum and will reside in the Anahata chakra. Later longer mantras are given as the child moves higher and higher up the spiritual ladder.

Since the movable signs are the cause of creation they were given the first mantra to do so.

Yours sincerely, Visti Larsen.

Respected Visti Ji

Where can we find the list of the syllabals connected to each graha and also the step about choosing the aksharas in the name kind of eluded me. How did the movable kendras come as 2 askaras? Could you please elaborate a bit

Regards
